fast help with 16x8 pro comp 7089's

hey i just recently placed an order for some pro comp 7089's and the shop is telling me i wont clear the caliper with the 16x8. they say i need to go up to the 17" but i dont really want to get the bigger rim. anybody running 16x8 7089's on a 2nd gen?

 

There's a bunch of people on here running them in that size and were told the same thing. I don't think you will have any problems. If they don't fit send them back!

 

Your truck comes with 16x8 unless you have a Sport.

 

right but the procomps may not be bored out enough to clear the caliper

True, the caliper does come close with the stock 16x8s. I heard if you use the 1069 wheels you have to shave our caliper 1/16 but i heard other procomps fit. pro comp makes a wierd 16x8

 

the back spacing is 4.5" on them. i see quite a few people running them on here but i can't ever tell if anyone is doing any mods to make them fit. from looking on here i would say they work no problem, but the guys at four wheel parts say they wont. im going to go with the guys on here over the stupid four wheel parts guys because i only hear bad things about them. i should be going to the shop to test fit them in two day so we'll see....

 

I run 16x8's, 4.5" bs, 0mm offset.

 

so i called the guys at pro comp and they said that there shouldn't be any rubbing untill you put new brake pads on. anyone got experience with putting new pads on?

 

No rubbing with mine.

 

well that is good news, and that is after putting new pads on with those rims?

do you think it would make a huge difference that mine is only a two wheel dive and yours is a 4x4? im not really familiar with difference up in the front end

 

Shouldn't make any difference.

 

i like hearing that. hopefully everything goes according to plan when i go in and test fit them on thursday. by the way, what lug nuts did you use?

 

How did the test fit turn out

 

the test fit worked out pretty well, im clearing everything enough to be satisfied. now i just have to track down the right lug nuts for them and order my tires
