My 2018 gave me a few instances of false Brake alerts going around a corner on a mountain road. It also had an error pop up a day before my 5k service, however it hasn’t given me any issues since. I do clean the glass ever 2 weeks or so if I don’t get a wash first.

I have also lowered the sensitivity to its lowest setting. I’d prefer to complete disable it at this point since I don’t want to let the machine do the braking for me.

My TSS sensor has been replaced once already. Acted up again, back to dealership. They talked to Toyota engineers tech support. System is functioning as designed is what they say. The thing does not like bright sunlight. When it sees something it doesn’t understand it shuts down,by default. It will say “ clean sensor “, the lens is clean. Not happy how this is playing out. Truck has 13,000.00 miles ,all stock. Great, I have a truck that doesn’t like sunny days, WTF. Hopefully Toyota will come up with a fix .

so, youre saying that if the sunlight shuts it down, it stays down? I did see a relationship with the failure and a bright day.

Mine will work fine for several days, then bright sunny day, yellow light on dash, system off, “ clean sensor “ . Next day, system works fine, but it’s not sunny outside. Dealership says, “working as designed “. Frustrating.

Have you contacted Toyota corporate about this? If so what was their response?

Recently done a grill swap from a stock grill to a pro grill. After installing the grill I received this message. Wonder if anyone could give me some help. Clean the sensor already, reset everything stills shows up.

That’s not good, may need to be recalibrate. Give it a couple of weeks and see if it “learns” it’s new position. Otherwise it’s off to the dealership.Welcome to the TW.

Do you have the Toyota grille garnish for the TRD Pro grill? If not, it's going to throw that error.

Could you show me a picture or item number for it? This grill came from eBay.

    https://google.com

That'll lead you to the worldwide web where it will open so many doors for you to click sweet little links and pictures to take you to your purchasing point. As I said above, if you read it - I'd advise you to get one from your local Toyota dealership to ensure you're getting OEM quality.
