I am 23 and in a totally different stage in life but I'll still give my input (as little as it is worth).

Of course I wanted a truck because I can tow stuff, help my family with home improvement stuff, move things, do truck stuff, whatever. Of course I also chose the Tacoma because it'll run to 400k miles and then some, etc.

But other than the obvious things that attract people to these trucks, the Tacoma is the kind of truck I can see keeping and parking in the back of the driveway even when I get a nice luxury car ten years from now, and I will let my kids drive this thing to high school. Everyone else wants the giant F150 with the 8 ft tall grill in front but I've been in some that are a few years old and they rattle like a can and get outdated really quick. Anyway man if I was older I could see myself wanting a nice f150 with leather and heated steering wheel, all the bells and whistles- but the tacoma has more soul in my opinion.

I liked the size of the 2002 S-10 I had for daily driving. I also decided that I could try the Tacoma and if I didn't like it the resale was stupid good.... then buy a full size.

I've got 65k+ on the clock and don't plan on selling the Taco any time soon.

4x4 will have a higher resale value. Any 4x4 Tacoma will go the places you want to go. I bought the Sport for best (barely) pavement driving and best looks. My advice for you is to ask Tacoma owners you see at gas stations how they like there trucks.

chose tacoma because the great look, great resale value, great capability. 4x2 because I live in the south and dont need 4x4 for pavement and haul my actual offroad toy to the trail I dont care about tearing up.IMG_2323.jpg

I have almost bought an S-10 ZR2 so many times. My buddy had one in college and it was the perfect size and really fun.
