I have reports from friends in W. Va. that troopers there use this as an excuse to pull folks over. I made covers for my upper light bar from pieces of that plastic cardboard (election signs), and pieces of the Velcro that wraps around onto itself to fasten. Works well so far.

Basically, any auxiliary lights that are above the headlights need to be covered. I always wondered how often people with roof mounted light bars got pulled over for them when I lived in CA. I don't think I've ever seen one covered.

Not really worried about it as it won't affect the operation of the reservoir and the air pocket will pretty much take care of itself as I'm driving.

    Washing it will help.

Some have had good luck taking it apart and adding a couple turns on the tensioner to pre-load the spring a bit. Just be careful if you do this because if you let the spool go with no belt on it, it will completely unspool and something inside comes apart, turning the whole thing into a paper weight.

It all goes back to the officer. Most of ours around here and yes, even in San Ramon (lol) are cool about it. There are those who will scrutinize everything looking for a reason to stop you.

I've left mine uncovered as well simply because I cant find a snap on cover for these damn side shooter auxbeams. oh well, not breaking any laws so if they want to pull me over for a fix-it, so be it.

Just installed a much needed diff drop kit from supreme suspensions. The truck rolls way smoother between 60-70. Just can't wait to have money to do front and rear suspension lift.

Spacer lift right now? I’ve had a 3” suspension lift for the last 1.5 years and installed a diff drop last week, it definitely helped with most of my vibs.

Not much you can do besides washing it, or having it rebuilt. Washing it should help a little bit.

I would still recommend a brand new one though, they're cheap enough and give you a much better end result.

Your '04 may be much more expensive because you have the explosive pretensioner. My '98 just had the mechanical pretensioner. I think I paid like $140 shipped from Gary @ Camelback Toyota.
