I just bought a pioneer HU for my2010 Tacoma. Can I use the sharkfin antenna that came on the truck to plug into my new HU for Sirius? Crutchfield said I couldn’t. Is it possible and if so, anything extra I need to by. Will the SFA 12M sharkfin adapter work or do I need something else?

I know from experience that Crutchfield is correct. I purchased a Sony HU w/ Sirius and the shark fin adapter. I do not get a signal using the adapter, however when I connect the cheapie magnetic Sirius antenna I get a signal.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. I was just hoping it would work. Where did you mount the antenna? I'd like to mount mine on the dash to cut down on wires coming out the back window or sliding glass.

I have it on the roof temporarily until I figure something out.

fhlashsf gave you the right linked. I used it to attach the shark fin antennae to my Avic Z110BT and it worked great.
