Biology/Pre-Dentistry. The dentistry side of it is why I have to take up to organic chem and some physics.

I'm finishing up general chemistry now, so no organic chem yet. I was originally a Chemistry major (changed to bio since I need a ton of bio for Pre-Dentistry). I actually ended up taking Calculus 2 my first semester since it was required for the chem major. Kinda sucks now since I don't need it for bio major. However, I got an A so it should still look good to dental schools. The major change also didn't affect me much since I can still finish in 3 years as long as I take a summer class each year.

I instruct the labs for gen chem. They're pretty good. Organic really takes a swing away from gen chem as its really focused on abstract stuff, id imagine you have to do both intro organics (i doubt you'd need the higher level ones like synthetic organic). When my girlfriend was applying for dentistry they basically wanted an undergrad degree so she did hons in biology.

oooooooo gives me goosebumps. I own a 67' 326 that I'll start to restore in the next couple years. Would've been this year but a certain new Taco got in the way :annoyed:

Belonged to my grandmother who got it from her uncle.

I'm pretty sure it's just the introductory courses. They're labeled Chem 241/242 if that means anything to you.

Yep they're called 2400/2401 here. The first course is a true intro, making skeletal structures small reactions etc. The second course is all mechanism based, like for example they will have a compound, add a reagent and ask what happens. So like electron pushing and stuff. I did much better in the first course than i did the second lol. My only advice is to keep on top of it as its 90% memorization

Oh how the times have changed, my dads first car was a 1970 cutless supreme with a 455, said he bought it off some old geezer for a couple grand. Then he traded it for a 74 corvette later on.

Shit if I rolled up to high school in a cutless or a vette as my first car girls would be jumping through the windows.

@Loqu!to awesome first rig congrats
Do yourself a favor and get in with the local TW group in your area and stay out of the third gen threads. People tend to be a bit more helpful when they think they might have a chance of actually meeting you at some point.
And for shits and giggles a pic of my first car. A 1962 Studebaker Lark Daytona.

Luckily I have a pretty good memory. I'm pretty sure I also planned to take them alongside easier courses so I can put more time and effort into it.

When i took it i had quantum mechanics, gen phys, analytical chem and inorganic. Terrible decision, by far the worst semester ive had lmao

It’s not a big deal to some if that’s how they grew up. It’s easy to say a mortgage is cheaper but think about how much down most have to have. Thank god for VA loans. I’m in MT and you’re looking at about $1700 for a two bedroom here now. Shitty dated 3 bedrooms going for $250k. It’s all about home and apartment availability compared to population. Oh and the wages here suck.

Best retirement investment? Used to be your time. 20 years federal service, retire in your 40s and get paid for another 30-40. Doesn’t even have to be military.

Well used to be anyways, military just switched to a 401k like system, not sure about GS civilians.

I've had many warnings from friends and both parents. One of my friend's dad is now a vet and got something like 98 in orgo chem somehow. I'm constantly hoping that I will be one of the few that somehow just clicks with the material for some odd reason.
Another reason I switched to bio was to get out of taking physical and analytical chem since I don't actually need it for my field. Especially since the main professor for analytical chem at my university is known to be really old school and make students do nearly everything by hand.
