I could have got them to your number but I drove 3 hours to buy it and was ready to drive home so I didn't best them up anymore.

I was in the same boat almost couldn't get a Cav blue. I really didn't want the tech package but my only other options were trucks that cost more and had more on them I didn't want.(steps etc) I almost broke down and got the cement but was able to talk them down to a deal I was cool with on the blue with Tech.

Got you beat. I went to Brita at Freeman also, but from San Diego....all in one day. Flew up on first flight to SFO, took a wine country shuttle to Santa Rosa, Ubered to dealership, bought truck, drove 8 hours home. I fly free though, so it really only cost me 19 bucks for shuttle, 10 bucks for Uber, and gas to drive home. Saved myself at least 2 grand from the San Diego dealerships, many of whom weren’t even interested in getting the exact truck I wanted. That’s enough to almost pay for the new SnugTop I’m putting on Thursday...

Thanks for the Freeman info. I may have to check them out. Only about 1.5 hrs from where I live.

I'm thinking about picking up a '19 DCSB TRD OR Auto 4x4 in Silver Sky Metallic. Dealer has quoted me $36k + TT&L. Does not include Premium or Tech package.

Includes locally installed options of TRD Blackout Package, Carpet Mats, Predator Tube Steps, and a ball mount receiver.

Located in Austin, TX. Should I keep shopping around? Maybe get a better deal in Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio?

Keep shopping. This is almost what I paid for my OR with Tech and Premium

Tech AND Premium?? Damn. That premium package is $2800 alone if I remember correctly.

What would be a competitive price if I don't want Tech and Premium? $33k plus TT&L?

Well the Tech package is only like $600-$700...that's all mine had on it (exact setup as the one you want but it was cavalry blue) and I got it for $33.9k
With taxes, fees, etc. $37.2k OTD

Great intel. My price includes local/dealer installed black exhaust tips, badge overlays, tailgate insert, predator tube steps, ball mount, window tint, and nitrogen filled tires. I don't mind the blackout stuff, but I could do without everything else.

What's my best negotiating tactic? Just say, "I'm shopping around at other dealers. Can you do $33k plus TT&L?"

Where did you say you live again?

Best tactic is to get that quote in writing, email, text, etc. Could even just be text conversation back and forth. Screenshot it and sent it out to other dealerships and ask if they can beat that to earn your business.

It took me nearly a month and 6 hour drive, but I saved my $4000.

I live in Austin, TX. So there are lots of high-volume dealerships in my area: Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, etc.

Good strategy. I tried using the Costco Auto Program, as well as American Express, but I think I can get the best deal if I negotiate on my own.

I need to figure out a way to anchor them around $33k to $34k. The silly dealer-added options keep inflating the price, and I don't want them.
