You bought too nice of a car man. I'm 23, finished two degrees debt free and have a CPA, work in a big city. Plenty of money and decided to buy my "dream" truck and get a nice Tacoma.

I love it to death but to be honest man I think I should have spent my 20s driving cool and fun beaters. Kind of embarrassing pulling up in a car nicer than most people older than me.

But you got a VA loan?

Thats pretty much the worst type of loan available, the only one worse is a USDA loan.

VA loans are a way to say fuck you very much for your service by the US government. I think its a distrespect to our service members but hey.
PMI is built into a VA loan with higher interest and nothing down. You end up paying the same amount of interest as the home is worth.

Yeah you have to pay mortgage insurance, If you were to rent the same place your monthly rent would be close to the same amount. Get rid of the truck payment and it’ll cover the PMI. Drive a reliable beater and pay extra a month till you don’t need PMI. Then buy the truck

I found and owned 3 different 1st gens just in 2018 to see which type I liked best and flipped them since I didnt choose to keep each. then i bought a 4th after it was the right package for me in december. 155k miles & frames great, drove 10 minutes up the road to get mine. AND i am located in VA just like this guy and im not even in the NOVA area like him where there should be much more of a choice. not that hard and WORTH the time to do the searching instead of doing what this kids doing

I'd personally choose a few months to a year of searching over spending an extra 20k... at least for my situation.
