I completely disagree. I like the chrome Toyota emblem because it pairs well with my retrofitted black/chrome headlights. And I don’t want an all black Grill/logo because you can’t even see it and then I’d have to plasti dip all of my other emblems on the truck which I don’t think I want to do. Especially on a black truck, it’s borderline pointless to me. I’m 100% stoked on leaving the Toyota emblem chrome instead of blacking it out.

 

And when you black out the Toyota emblem it often looks like its missing entirely (IMO) especially from any distance at all.

 

If you like it that way, that's all that matters! It's just a suggestion.

Definitely doesn't look like it's missing though. I blacked out the side Tacomas black and removed the tailgate badges. Looks so much better, in my opinion.

 

I'm with you on that. I like seeing the chrome emblem. I'm not a huge fan of chrome, but I think it flows better on the grille. When I see the blacked out emblems around town, it almost looks like it's missing, like I'm only seeing the mounting outline behind.

 

Painted my center caps and added white overlay stickers. Turned out pretty good I think

 

Ordered some rokblokz. Stockers are rubbing at full turn and starting to get loose lol

 

Another option is to plasti dip it a different colour, not always black. I've seen some white ones and some red, they don't look all that bad.

I would consider doing red... Maybe I will when it gets a little warmer out. I did my engine cover red on last truck, wanting to do that again.

 

They make plastidip in about every single color. Plus glossifier which includes “fade buster UV protectant. Look on “dipyourcar.com”

Had a bulb explode in the headlight housing, so while I was opening it up to clean the glass out, I did the BHLM and could not be happier with the results. And it was surprisingly easy to bake the lenses apart and use a heat gun to resoften the factory glue to put em back together. Didn’t even need the WindoWeld the NAPA wanted 35 bucks for.

Much more aggressive looking face. It’s the little details that make me love this truck more every day.

 

Your same truck, same color, same angle same plastidipped chrome lip, but with a ~$120 grill insert for your future reference. So a ~$130 grill upgrade in total with the Plastidip. Not saying mine looks better or worse since I like yours, just a comparison.

 

Looks fantastic! I’d really like to do that custom cargrills $120 satoshi grill with metal mesh behind it but I need $120 worth of skids more than $120 for a Grill right now. Agreed completely though!
