N2 Designs 2016-2022 Tacoma 3x OEM FOB Plug n Play Remote Starter Kit (AT & MT) + Smart Module

Got mine installed last night and it was a blistering 56 deg this morning. Oh well, it will really shine in the summer

Love the setup and super easy install. Running into some issues with the smart module though. I have the 3x remote working and I can connect via the app and see the car info (voltage, doors lock/unlocked, and the start timer when started with the 3x remote), however none of the controls work from the app. Wondering if this is the same issue some other people appear to be having?

 

Very well could be an issue with the programming, get linked up with Jimmy and I'm sure he'll do every thing he can to get you squared away. I also had a similar issue (could see everything but no controls) and it turned out to be a programming fault on my end.

 

I'll echo the comments that Jimmy is a superstar at customer service. Anyone that can talk me through reinstallation of a car starter has supreme patience!

I'll also echo that my CL6 APP still doesn't work right. We did the protocol swap and it worked the next time I tried it about two hours after Jimmy talked me through the reboot. Then I went to my parents, and when I tried to show my Dad, it didn't work. I hate to be a pain but I'll have to call again when I am in town where the cell service is strong

Technology is awesome...……………until it isn't.

 

Exactly the issue I am experiencing. Can see voltage, vehicle location and door lock status, but cannot execute commands.



I'll also add that the alarm light in the dash now flashes and also goes steady.....I don't think I ever saw this light come on ever, before installing the remote start system. Has anyone else noticed this?

Got my 4G module after a USPS hiccup.

Installed this evening. Took about 45 minutes because I have a ton of other wires under the dash and have a bit of OCD when it comes to lose wires.

4G module placement wasn’t good in the beginning. I had it tucked as low to the ground as possible in the cutout where the left driver’s foot cover is. It showed it had signal to both cell and gps, but I couldn’t get it to fire the truck up or lock the doors.

I ended up moving it as high in the dash as I could get it and it works like a champ now!

TLDR: if you’re having cell problems, I feel bad for you son. Move that receiver higher in the dash and be done!

 

It’s always been there. And I’ve got nothing to do with it, on Push to Start you’ll never set the alarm off. This is only for HKEY guys because the vehicle keeps running till they exit and shut the door and there is an arming process to it. You’re not going to be affected by this nor would it be relevant in your case. HKEY only. Not PTS.

*Edit: this is specifically HKEY Manual when ready mode is initiated.

 

That’s where I prefer to start the programming, up by the A pillar, drivers side view mirror until done, then tucking away long ways up with the module SITTING on the connector going into it, in that panel only after done and tested.

 

Guys if I didn’t get to you today you’ll be up next tomorrow. Some of my hardware was delivered and left in the rain for hours. Electronics in soggy boxes...I don’t need to say anymore about how pissed I am. I’m calling it a day today because it my moms birthday and we’re headed over to surprise her. ANNOUNCEMENT - SMART PHONE APP CONTROL MODULE CONNECTIVITY

Some are reporting outages, others whom once were connected are dropping out. In the next few days the manufacturer will be conducting testing and may be changing things that affect thier server. With the deivce being a new roll out and you guys being the first to have it, rest assured you're not beta testers, the fix is ON their network end as well as changing things so that they play nice with the LATEST flash (also NOT Beta) inside your remote start modules. They realize that it's easier to fix the smart module software and network because it's already distributed in the consumer's hands. The 3G was solid and still is so they already know this will be the bench mark in which they test against. When you have two companies making devices that need to play nice with each other, these things happen, ESPECIALLY when it's so fresh. The good news is that they just need to adjust things to the remote starter's latest flash version as nothing has changed on the remote starter's side in terms of firmware. The latest firmware in ALL of your starters is the same version that the 3G fellas have and have had no issues. I did have the option to roll back or send remote starters out with a few revisions of firmware back, but I choose NOT TO because there is a reason why it's OLD. Older firmware means that it had bugs that have been worked out and aren't in the version I flash. I want you to all have the latest and greatest, not buggy stuff, so I prefer that this gets worked out from the manufacturer. Also, who's to say that when IT IS worked out that THEN and ONLY THEN will people REALLY start have communication and compatibility issues. Now if a newer flash is released that fixed this, that's a whole different story in all. As of now, that has not been the case. Any latest flash to the SMART MODULE does not come from me, it's over the air and just happens. You won't really know when and that it is, or has other than maybe some lag or offline time if you so happen to catch it at the right time. Will update the rest as soon as I hear back.

@jmeitz has been hounding the smart module manufacturer non-stop for them to quit dragging their feet. I've been bugging the remote starter manufacturer daily. We both then have been comparing notes almost everyday to see if we can figure it out on our own and come up with some sort of solution that works ahead of a solution.

 

This is only for Toyotas. Everything but the bottom most shelf on the left rack is for Tacoma World....errr I mean Toyota Tacomas....however I can ship most Toyotas and Lexus vehicles right away. Whatever is on the website with Lexus going up soon online. All other vehicles, until up online, are by inquiry. I am not limited to Toyota/Lexus. If a competitor has it, chances are I do too, and even more likely, for less. Actually, highly likely. Actually, guaranteed.

And for the record, my competitors are NOT Amazon, Crutchfield, eBay, Walmart, Newegg and so on.

Is there a way to get Carlink to show temperature like in the images? Or is that car dependent?
