I just bought an 11lb tank. The 5lb is as small as I would go. Under that some of manufacturing and production stuff is different and a lot of propane refiles wont touch them.
I only plan on running a grill with mine. People have said the 5lb tank gets you like 3ish days of cooking on a tank. I didn't want to have to refill that often so i opted for the 11lb tank

I just put a 20lb in a milk crate with some bungee cords and run a hose to heater. 20181104_125939.jpg I like Coleman stuff. This was a garage sale find, all for 80 bucks. Stoves worth more than that by itself.

I scored a new lil red campfire from a guy on here..its pretty slick. No smoke, plenty of heat, and can use it during fire bans

I think I mentioned it before, but my mother in law gave us her old Coleman stove from the 70s and it looks just like that one on your tailgate...same fuel system and burners. We've used it a couple times but I always have a hard time getting it to stay lit...I don't know if it's the old age (she only used it a couple time so it still looks new, but its old nonetheless and didn't see much action). Got it to stay lit a few times but it takes awhile. Maybe I just suck at using it lol.

just refill them yourself from you at home 20lb bottle. YOu can get a little adapter for cheap. lugging around a 20lb bottle sucks.

Yeah you should have done that from the get go haha the stock bushings are made of black jello.

Watch a couple YouTube videos and give it a good cleaning, add fresh fuel and preheat the generator on there. Should make a lot of breakfast for years to come.

May need to blow out the burners. Sometimes a spider web or whatever will really mess with the function.

I've got about 4 of those old white fuel stoves and a few lanterns. Are they actually worth anything, they're sort of a last resort in my book because the propane packs easier.

Someone told me the Coleman my wife's mom gave us would be worth a pretty penny to a collector or enthusiast on eBay since it was practically brand new looking and preserved from the mid 70s.
Even the instructions were perfectly kept intact and clean until I dropped a hot match on them

But yeah I don't look forward to using it much because it's such a process to get it going with the white fuel setup...the butane stove I have is much easier to operate

It's something you have to do a few times to get the hang of it, but once you do it's really pretty easy and quick. Also the stove needs to be in good working order. Same applies for white gas lanterns.
