I've heard the less than $400 in the bank thing more than once. If there is truth to that....wow. I feel like a terrible money manager at times because I don't have retirement stuff really. I feel like I could make it rain compared to the $400 thing and still I know I have a long ways to go in better financial decisions. Crazy .

If I had a spare 400$ I felt like I could spend I’d seriously think about picking it up, but I don’t.

Hey at least you HAVE all day to work on a project. ANY day for that matter :luvya:

I for sure want to buy something Id be happy with for 5-10 years. Not about to do short term thing. Im pretty confident I'll be here for a while..provided the arts center doesn't close ha

My experience with the market crashes and such in 2008 is that Wy and MT barely felt it(Granted, i was a sophomore in HS but this is also coming from talking with my parents). I couldn't for the life of me tell you why..or if that'll be the case again. I know Wyomings economy crashed hard 3 years ago and is very slow to recover. Not a diverse economy. MT is in the same boat in some ways. The mine is a Platinum mine though not a coal one so I don't think the local housing will crash bad any time soon. But who knows.

I am glad I have more that $400 in the bank  But know it is true. I have a nice "nest" egg going but it still seems tragically small. I don't understand how people have a new house and new vehicles. Seems nearly unobtainable till your making 150K+ a year haha I can dream about that kind of income..but its a dream for a recording engineer!

    Either way. :itllbuffout:

Im still holding a little hope in that the rumor is people just post housing out here for really over market value prices. Talking with a realtor will help Im sure.

Cause I was talking about finding 400$ earlier, only reason, didn’t really matter either way though

I think you are exempt from that statistic being in college. I'm sure it refers to adults with a mortgage, car payments etc

The only way I want to have less than 400$ in my account is if the semester just started and I paid my rent/tuition in full.

OK, so in my ongoing quest to ask the dumbest questions on TW, here are my next couple.

I've got a grease gun full of Lucas Red-n-Tacky that I've been using on the drive train. Today, I picked up some NLGI#2 Moly Grease for my UCAs. Should I:
    1. Take out the red-n-tacky, clean (wipe out?) out the gun, and use it for the new stuff. Switch back and forth for each task.
    2. Get a new gun for each type of grease
    3. Take out the red-n-tacky and clean it really well and just use the NLGI #2 Moly Grease for everything from here on. (I have no idea if that's OK).
If #3, does it matter if there's red-n-tacky in a u-joint when I squeeze in the moly grease?

I don't know a ton about red-n-tacky, but if it's a general purpose grease then I'd just use up the red-n-tacky until it runs out, then switch to the moly grease :notsure:

I just run the moly all the time. Red n tacky is over rated and squeaks.

So just switch over? #3? And, assuming yes, how about the final question - I assume it's OK to "mix" them for a while until the red-n-tacky is eventually squeezed/diluted out of the u-joints?

Yeah wouldn't worry about that. I'd try to wipe out as much from your gun but you're not gonna get it out if the joint easily. Not going to hurt anything

I personally run two guns. I like having different greases and 15 bucks for a gunnwas worth not having to clean out the main one.

I have two of the same ones from Lowe’s with a bendy hose on them. Had them a few years never had an issue

i just do it every oil change, since upgrading the UCAs to total chaos uniball and they have the bushings on the arm it makes it VERY easy to do. Those use superlube and TC said to lube the hell out of them then drive until they squeak and put more in, that poly bushing was the hardest bushing i have ever put into a vehicle part damn near as hard as rock. But i can tell driving it how much better it steers and tighter it all feels.
