Tacoma from a teenager's POV

If people didn't buy what they can't afford, my stocks wouldn't go up as much. I just hope I don't have to pay for their retirement with my tax dollars when the time comes.

This goes back to the beautiful conversation I have with my GF every now and then about the idea that almost any hobby is a distraction and does not produce any money to the progression of my life.

So....why have any fun in this life if it doesn't grow your bank account?

 

You just waisted $.35 posting here. That was time that could’ve been used for self improvement or working your butt off.

 

Because we only get one life, one chance to make our finances perfect.

I can't afford my truck or the mods but I'll be damned if somebody's says I don't work hard for both.

Welcome to TW OP sounds like you got the perfect truck for you and considering it's brand spanking new I hope it's your forever car. It should last nearly as long if you take care of it . Best of luck, and I hope you pay it off fast as you can!

In my opinion, buying a brand new vehicle at 18 while still living at home is a mistake.......

My opinion means nothing however

But.....if you are going to make a mistake, do it when you are 18- that is the time to learn and move on.

Yea, but hey man it gets me decent coin. I would love to be back out in the field these days, but being in a cube is standard practice for an engineer in todays world unless you are on a build.

Nothing wrong with that.. heard engineering is a great field to get into. Buddy just finished his masters in engineering.

 

Its totally ok to have that perspective. Knowing myself at 18, who knows if I would have been able to seal the deal long term and so I didn't want any debt at the time which also helped getting the old rents ride. Others were likely more driven than I was though as I just wanted to go to school and not have anything over my head. I applaud OP for trying it out, worst case he gains an experience with buying a vehicle and then takes a possible loss to sell if needed...but he could own that nice blue ride 4eva!

I give him props man, I'm still trying to dodge that path. I might do the MBA or PM route if I do.

 

Why on earth would I need a lawyer? Also people will be more inclined to trade for things they can’t produce themselves.
