What made you decide to go with his shackles and not just blow our the bushings in the stock shackles?

The stock shackles would then be the obvious weak point in the system and an angle grinder with take care of the leafs in no time. Plus i heard getting the bushings out is a total PIA

Was that before or after he revised the hangers so that little tab wasn’t there? Before IIRC. He’s since gotten rid of that and no issues. It’s no difference than Jerry having issues and remedying them. That’s how it goes with almost any product these fab vendors come out with.

OP if you haven’t made up your mind yet, you’ll be happy with either. I love my hammer hangers. It really made my back end ride a lot smoother.

    Correct this was before.

The difference between Eric and Jerry is Eric never offered a solution or fix to the problem.

I sent him pictures and he said maybe longer shackles would help. He actually suggested I could cut a piece of plastic and stick it between the tab and shackle. Does that sound like a legit remedy for a $300 product?

Jerry shackles had issues and he quickly revised them, then replaced everyone’s who received that batch. For free, regardless of problems or not.

So you ran with medium dakars and then added a leaf as well?

Yep. HD dakars with an additional AAL and stock shackles with the hammer hangers. Will be getting new shackles from archive at some point because one of my stock ones is a little tweaked.

Just thought I'd throw my recent experience out there. I have an HD Deaver Pack, HC bumper with spare, @TOTAL CHAOS Shock relocation, and a Snugtop shell. On my daily drive through Las Vegas, there's a section that's concrete with the expansion joints that are perfectly spaced to get my truck bouncing pretty badly from 62-68mph. I semi-regularly remove my snugtop shell (200lbs-ish), and when I do, the bounce goes away. Now, when I put the shell back on, I stiffen the compression and it resolves the issue. But that's just me. Admittedly, I have no experience with the shackle hangers mentioned above.

I have the mediums and its just not enough with the bumper added now.. so i am thinking of adding the aal to make them heavy equivalents.. then do hangers and shackle bushings.. thats good to hear it got better without the AAL, they say the heavies arre good for 600+lbs over stock weight.. and our bumpers are what 200-300 at best with leverage taken into account

bumper and swingout are about 200 lbs. Then take into account spare wheel/tire and fuel cans if you've got them, and that adds another 100-200 lbs depending on setup.
