So sorry to hear, my condolences to you and your family.
I know it’s not easy speaking about such intimate things especially on a public forum.
I hope I speak for everyone when I say that we completely understand if you need time to be with family and we will hear from you when the time is right.

Finally got a break to attempt my first vinyl hood job, 3M knifless tape and a 4’x5’ piece of 3M 1080 deep matte black and I’m pretty happy with the results. Had to use the heat gun just a little but I’m pretty happy with the end result. If I can do this by myself anyone can.

Thanks buddy, that’s an AVS Aeroskin bug shield but I’d consider it more of a rock shield. I like the way they look vs the ones that stick up in the air.

It went way better than I expected, the only way I got it down as good as it is by myself was starting on one side and working it a few inches at a time before pulling more paper off. After doing this I don’t see how anyone just stretches this stuff out and lays it down all at once with no bubbles/wrinkles.

Installed mine tonight! Using the soapy water method, my wife helped me lay it on the hood, and after that it went WAYYY easier than I thought it would. Will try to post some pics tomorrow or later this evening from my phone. using the credit card method, i didn't even need a 2nd person other than the ease of having someone help me set it on the hood at the very beginning.

I put Colinite wax on mine a few days after installing. Water beads up like the paint. No white haze or lines on edges at all.

Can’t say I have ever been a fan of decals on hoods.....but really do like the look it gives my Taco.
I have the Large Long version. No logo.

Install was really easy. Just keep it wet enough so you can slide around.
I sprayed the hood twice, then once on the back of the decal.floated it on of sorts....then stuck down the top end corner by the windshield, then the other top end side, started squeezing in middle top edge of decal ....worked my way down always from the center/middle of decal squeezing out to outer edge. Then put light on it to see any bubbles which there were only a few.....just had to squeegee over those, no problem.
I have had mine since Nov 2018. Gulf coast of Texas, truck stays outside all the time, no garaging. Been out west, White Sands, NM and then 8 days high desert in Big Bend, TX.
    Looks brand new.
I think they are good for 6+ years?
I might buy another to install 6+ years from now.....hope to keep my truck that long.
Can’t beat the quality and look of this decal!
    Repost from earlier on here.....

I ordered 2, one for my buddies' truck and one for mine. When we get ready to do his truck, I'll try to get a video of it to post up.

Although I didn’t do mine this way when your doing a wet install some put tape on the hood as an alignment point that you figure out before you start the process of putting it on. Less to worry about when you start.
