Ducks have lost 12 in a row and we still can't catch them.

 

I just don't understand the Ducks. With every loss, I wonder how they can lose again. And Gibson is actually still playing well. It's crazy.

Hey man, the only ones we have are 5 that I was alive for. And there were more than 6 teams in the league, so I am proud of it.

I agree it was a cheap dig and the Pens deserved to lose. They played like crap and SJ looks good lately. But the card is there for me to play, so I played it. Is what it is

Yeah, seems like a bunch of lateral trades that don't amount to much. Hopefully something is in the works to shake up the team.
I'm still pissed they got rid of Cogliano. I get he's one of the few core players who wasn't protected and the GM wanted to send a message but their was an article on the trade that cited all these new players saying how Cogliano introduced them to conditioning and how he really elevated players to take care of their body. IMO, you want someone like that on the team so he can pass down the same techniques and habits to the younger core.
Anaheim also sent Schenn and a 7th to Vancouver for Del Zotto.

I found a lengthy podcast (~1hr) that uploads once a day that isn't filled with crap. It's great for the ride home from work.

My only hope this season is Gibson doesn't get robbed of a Vezina nomination due to the lack of play from everyone else on the team.

 

I would've played it as well, a will someday, we've got like 20 more years to tie the other CA team.

 

Not surprisingly the Wild have traded away Nino Niederreiter. Canes get Nino, Wild get Victor Rask.

Nino just has not been able to live up to his big contract, I thought he’d be on the chopping block around the deadline.

Ya, the trades are a lot of fringe guys. Del Zotto was good a few ears ago but really seemed to drop off or something. I find it interesting that they backed the coach's job security. I guess that is cool, in a way. But they are going to have to get rolling here at some point. And yes, Gibson should still remain in the running for Vezina but you know how that goes. Price can win 2 games in a row and hold a sub- 4.00gaa and they will try to sneak him in anyways, ahead of him lol.

 

Anaheim GM Bob Murray and Randy Carlyle go way back and are friends off the ice/in the offseason. There is talk of bringing up the AHL coach, Dallas Eakins, but I think the Gulls are very hot right now and are skeptical of Eakins last tenure in the NHL (with the Oilers)
