Mat can you shed more light on what the 4.88 mod will bring to those of us with 4.88 gears? Raised shift rpm points? ??? After running 1.04 and 1.05 for AT (3.91 gearing) with stock tires and no additional weight I am curious what to expect. Hoping for clarity like you provided for S / ETC shifting lock. Really liking 1.05. Thanks.

 

Rouge Off Road was his source. Probably same for the 5.29. I think Mat contacted them to do the research for him - his base tune with logger and their truck for gears.

 

PSA: Tire size and weight matter a TON.

I just changed tires after being on 265/75R16 SL Falken Wildpeaks for nearly 40K miles - over 30K with OVTune (look for my comments on this thread). They were 31.7”, 44lbs, at 671 revs/mile. I had zero complaints with 1.05 93 for the last 1000 miles.

Fast forward to tonight -> New tires.

Im going to clear the DCT and give it full tank of gas, but am pretty sure that I will need the larger tire size tune.

1.05 should be a great improvement then!

I’m usually between 65-70mph here, and I’m light footed 75% of the time. There is some elevation change here but nothing enough to warrant only 18mpg highway/15 city unless I’m driving in the mountains down the 101

 

I’m tired of my truck using 3rd gear at 70mph to climb a hill on US101... it doesn’t seem to be enough of an incline to warrant 5500 rpm’s! If I modulate the throttle enough it’ll stay in 4th... but still.

Yes I did because I don't mind open discussion but what bothers me is if I have to find out someone is having an issue from this thread. Discuss openly, just make sure I know through proper channels so I can look into it.

 

Hey guys, I am trying to flash to the 1.05 and I am stuck. Can any one help me out? How do I upload the new file into the PCM flash manager? OVtune instructions are not clear. My box with the 3 dots is grayed out, what am I missing?

 

you can't until it recognizes the dongle - try another USB port. My LT has
5 of them but only 1 will work with the license dongle.

Thank you, that worked. Now I just tried to click WRITE and it started then stopped and said unsuccessful? Am I supposed to click READ first then WRITE?

 

Turn everything off and retry

 

Tried that, now this happens when I click WRITE. amd I supposed to click READ first? I thought I did that when I first installed the flash.

 

Try IDENTIFICATION. See if PCMflash recognize your ECU. Make sure you press the push-to-start button TWICE, so ignition is on, engine not running.

 

Reboot your PC and make sure the USB device shows up in the device manager when you plug it in.

 

Tried that just now. No luck, I think my anti virus is turned on, gonna turn all that crap off and try again. Would be nice if they has people at OVtune who can actually help with stuff like this. Takes days to get a reply and today is my only day to do this.

 

Is the Tactrix USB device showing up in device manager? Unplug and watch the folders of the device manager to make sure it disappears and reappears when you plug it back in.

Yes, I unplug it and it says "no dongle" and then I plug it in and it shows the serial number. Then I clicked WRITE and it starts, then stops right away and I get this.

 

I had to reinstall the openport drivers for me to get the tactrix to connect... I tried rebooting, turning off antivirus, different ports etc, but a reinstall of the drivers fixed it.

 

Didn't you get the TSB done?
