Buy a cheap diamond. Spend the money on guns, mods, and camping gear. If your SO doesn't appreciate it, you're marrying the wrong girl.

Shit there’s no such thing as a cheap diamond. Not unless you get a fake one. I just went through this a few months ago

Well I don’t know what your guy’s idea of cheap is but when I got sentenced with no possibility of parole, I got her a diamond that wasn’t huge (I think about 0.3 carats) in a custom setting built in house. The diamond was colorless, vs2 clarity and had about 98% light transmission so a pretty quality stone. She loved it. All in I was around $2000.

No way I’d spend big $$$$ on a ring like some people do. Same thing with our wedding. Pretty simple deal - about $4000 total which included her dress and honestly was mostly the catering bill to feed around 90 people a quality meal.

Save your money and go on a nice trip somewhere.

No ring and no wedding for me. Just some paperwork downtown for tax and estate purposes. That's the way to go IMO.

I splurged on her ring so I can not get questioned about truck parts anymore. Not that she really questioned me before. We are acrewed in the wedding. First draft of invitees was nearly 250 and that’s just family and close friends. Hopefully we can cut it down to under 200 and hope a few can’t make it to get us closer to 150. A good chunk is out of state so there’s a chance.

I’d go this route.. but being as the woman comes from money I don’t have a choice. Lol she actually made me agree to saving 2k & she gives me 2.5k & her mom 1.5k. Making enough for a 6k ring

Edit: plus whatever job I end up with she doesn’t really care. As long as I get a decent job I like. Lol

Well, there's cheaper. When I bought my wife's engagement ring set I walked into the jewelry store and the salesman started to give me the whole "3 months salary" pitch. I laughed and said, "If I spend three months salary on an engagement ring my girl will beat me to death with it." He thought that was hilarious. We walked over to the cheap seats, and I was out the door for about $1,500. Wife was thrilled with it. Granted, that was 15 years ago, when gold was a lot cheaper and we weren't competing with the Chinese market for everything. But still, I see kids these days going out and spending $25-30,000 on an engagement ring. What a way to start off life, tens of thousands of dollars in debt to buy a little rock.

Yeah that’s insane to spend that much. I splurged but kept it about $4k. Fiancé drove my truck and said she wanted a supercharger, I told her I can save for that or for her ring. She chose the ring

Amen. Lol. We went with a Moissanite stone. If you don't know what it is... Check em out. Sourced right here in Az from Meteor Crater. Substantially cheaper... Greater brilliance. What we saved on the ring we used for our destination wedding to St Lucia for 9 days.

She’s more of a speed demon than me lol. She’s driven the truck through some forest roads and what not but I want her to get in through the cinders or something a little rougher and see how she likes driving.

But part of the price on hers is because I got it at shaneco and comes with free sizing and warranty for life. Already had to use the warranty when one of the small diamonds went missing. It was nice, walk in, give them the ring, shopped around for my band for about 10 min and they brought it back cleaned and good as new

I’d file an insurance claim for that trail damage lol. But yeah skids are definitely a good investment. I really wish I could find the pic of my stock skids the day I finally took them off and built my first set

Don't buy an expensive band for yourself either. I wear those silicone ones that I got on Amazon for like $13 for 3. My titanium one sits at home 90% of the time

Oh yeah for sure. Ours are much cheaper than theirs to begin with. I liked a meteorite one and checked the price, over $1k. I’m like nope, it’s neat and all, but I’m fine with a $100-300 for me to wear a few times a year and then the silicone one for daily use

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
    Been married for 16.5 years.

Proposed with a $149 Kmart ring that I bought that day.
    Eloped for $50ish.
After a few years finally got her a wedding band for $500ish because we were still a broke military family.
At 9 years, we finally took a honeymoon, a cruise.
At 11 years finally got her a nice wedding band.

Love is what y’all make of it, doesn’t need to be fancy.

Def a solid experience and that lifetime warranty is where its at. I got my ring believe it or not from etsy from an Italian jeweler as my girl likes more of a renaissance style. It took them about 3 weeks to design from start to finish, but they provide a lifetime warranty as well. I just couldn't find anything in the store that seemed remotely what I was looking for. It will be cool to see how she likes the real LT life man.
