I’m definitely digging the gray frame look.

Hit up Sportsmans warhouse, they normally have most of the popular guns in stock and they will let you handle them all, find what fits you the best then shop on line for the best price. Sportsmans is normally very competitive. Far cheaper than basspro/cabelas

    Thank you @JimBeam

I stand corrected!...but you get the just.....last blue label I bought was in 2006 at Scottsdale Gun Club when I worked there. Glock 21SF, with the ambi mag release. Now that I think on it, it was around $390.00 plus tax.

Its funny...personal preference...something that ONLY matters to that person! If I were buying something for home defense and was NOT gonna carry....the last thing I would buy is a handgun. If I wasn't going to carry, the only weapon I would buy for home defense is a long gun. Period.

In the end, not matter what you buy.....SHOOT THE CRAP OUT OF IT!!!!! Trigger time is more important then the brand.

I prefer a small collection. Each for a different situation. Good luck.

Two recommendations from my personal collection:

If you plan to carry, I suggest a couple good knives as well. Top photo is my "load out" and swap my shield in often. Do your research.

    Good luck!!

I’d go with the g19. The 17 is a full frame pistol and it doesn’t go as many places as you’d like. I ended up telling three different people that and they all went with the full size, only to end up buying the compact (g19) later. You can conceal carry it, pack it in a bag or hike it, easy to find spots in the truck for it and not too small to not have fun at the range.

Also if you buy the .40S&W versions you can swap barrels and mags down to 9mm and still shoot them. If I could do it over again that’s what I’d do.

But the g19 is a do it all gun.

Local range has "Glock January" and I'll be looking to trade in my 17 for a 19. Price pending.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Sig p220 Legion in case ‘dem bears get friendly at camp.

In all seriousness, like others have posted. Treat yourself to multiple trips to the gun range. Relax, don’t think to much about it. Let your gut tell you after multiple trips.
I buy local because I want to be able to continue to go to local stores to handle things before I buy.
My favorite post was someone saying Shoot..Shoot..Shoot. That’s is key for your safety and being able to become comfortable with your firearm.
Don’t worry about the price, buy what it can afford. Because in the end you will most likely own a few.

Steyr L9 is one of my favorites. If you want to drive up to Phoenix we can go shooting at Scottsdale gun club. Have a Glock19, Hudson, p10c, steyr L9, USP, p320, 226, 229, 232, 92fs, ppq, and a few others so you can try them out.

See. It happens. Learn from others.

You can run larger mags in the smaller pistols. So what this means is when I carry, I run the g19 with a 15rd mag. And I carry 17,21,27or 33rd extras.

The problem is not in the barrel length but in the frame/handle length. That’s usually what “prints” or shows during conceal carry.

Gonna shoot a buddy's 19 while I'm there and probably proceed. Again, hoping for a decent trade in. Antsy :goingcrazy:

Good luck. I’m still rocking the gen3 I bought for myself when I turned 21 for my birthday. I’ve also got a micro roni it fits into and a g34 MOS with an RMR on top.

OP. Consider getting an MOS version as well if you plan on adding an optic later on.

Also. Get a roni. $250, no stamp, no background check, turns your pistol into a little carbine. People are shooting these accurately to 300m
