Yep yours looks good. What you’re wanting to do is what I did. I just took it on a 10 mile test drive and tested all functions. On highway and off. It Kept proper distance behind car in front of me, was able to turn off and on, extend and lessen distance, etc. will keep it how it is as long as it works and I don’t have a caution light pop up. The real test will come when it rains. But like I said, a screwdriver and the OEM garnish will remain in my truck in case I need to pull over and do a quick switch. It just looks so much better without that shiny garnish.

I contacted the Ebay seller and told him about slots not being there and his options were mod it, return it, or he'll do a partial refund for the inconvenience. Purchased for $73 and he refunded $35. For that price I'll put the grill on my 2017 or sell it locally. Since the grill was supposed to be a gift for my dad's 2018 tacoma, I ended buying a faux grill from @FreshMexicanTaco.

Yep. Not sure if I should add some sort of plastic just to keep water out but it seems plenty of people are running theirs without. We’ve had terrible weather since I installed and I’ve not had any problems at all.

Weather, especially rain, definitely affects the sensor. I have the stock TRD OR grille, and the sensor light has gone off twice in driving rain storms. That possibility is even mentioned in the manual.

I think you are good! :fingerscrossed::thumbsup:

Hate to accept defeat but have been messing around with the ghetto garnish so that I didn’t have that shiny look and got errors every time out. Put on the OEM shiny garnish and have tested everything and no codes. I was throwing a code every time the PCS activates but I’ve tried it twice nowwith the OEM garnish and no codes.

Mine did that once. I went in and turned in on, then off and it’s been good.

There might be one or two people, they did the grill swap without some type of garnish, that got lucky but probably 99% don’t

The warnings will clear give it time. Mine took about 5 weeks but now I have zero warnings and everything works like it should.

I went ahead and got the garnish so I could put it all together at one time. The only time I get errors is when the garnish gets obstructed by rain, which I got on the stock grille setup too.

Yeah probably it's the behavior I'm seeing. I turn on and start driving no light and suddenly it pops up. So I decided to just order the garnish, cant stand the light on a brand new truck!

Can anyone recommend which seller to buy from on Ebay or Amazon?
I seem to be reading some mixed feedback from these faux grilles and just want to make sure I buy from a reliable seller.

I had a really bad experience with ebay. Some seller from China. Ordered and waited 4 weeks. Kept emailing the seller and he kept saying it was on its way but the shipping information showed nothing being sent. Finally i got fed up and filed a case with ebay.

Ended up getting my grill from a member on here. He's sold a lot of grills to members and he's a solid guy. His grill is really great quality too.
