Best way to tie down a transmission?

Gonna pickup a Honda Accord transmission tomorrow...what is the proper way to strap it down for a 80 mile drive home? Thanks.

 

ratchet straps?

 

Tie it to a wooden pallet, and then tie down everything to the bed.

I have hear of people using old tires to set heavy stuff on so it doesn't slide. Also use the D-rings.

 

I don't think they will provide a pallet...so what are my other options? I mean all I know is it is kinda a odd shaped and I have 4 corner rings on my 02 bed.

 

stop by any furniture store or grocery store on your way. Either just go in the back and grab one, or almost any of them will sell you one for no more than 5 bucks

The tire idea works well too. Just have to make sure you tie it down really tight. Hit a bunch of bumps and that tire can get to bouncin

 

gonna get a honda reman trans?

 

Yep...03-07 V6 tranny is crap...mine lasted 135000 which is great but $1500 for the rebuild tranny and another $500 for install.

 

the honda reman will be in a big plastic container.the trans is straped down inside the lower part.if its a v6,just strap it where it cant slide around.its so heavy your not going to have to worry about it bouncing.
