I just ordered one as well, thanks for posting about it. I didn't see it on the site when I ordered the rest of my kit recently. I'm hoping it will be here by this weekend so I can wire up my front camera and the rear override. Please keep us posted on how it works out for you!

Great write up and a super cool way to help see objects on the front side when wheeling or parking lot crawling! Nice tip, thank you!

Is there any specific wiring configuration needed for this new switch? Seems to be way less pins than the dpdt style switch

Haven't received it yet (still just shows pre-shipment when tracking) but it seems pretty simple on the website. Comes with a harness that has 4 wires coming off. Power, ground, rear camera, front camera. https://www.anytimebackupcamera.com/product-page/FRswitchtoy

So I am getting this done and I wired the rear camera button with a acc to tail lights so the button lights up when dash lights on.

Well it works but when the engine is actually running it won’t light the button with dash lights on. Engine off works perfect.

    Any ideas?

Just received the new switch . looks like it has a rocker style. Will attemp to do the install Tomorrow.

Anyone know which pin I will need to switch out for the nav override add on? I forgot to add it to the order when I got the full kit, but added it to the new switch order.

    Cheers,

Mind taking a picture of the two wires you tapped? Almost sounds like you tapped two hot wires.

Just did the install with the new switch. Was pretty straightforward, fishing the wires were the most annoying part. The switch itself works well, just wish it has the same OEM blue instead of this indigo blue. Also when switching from front cam to off, it flash the rear cam on for 1/2 of a sec. All in all I'm happy with the products. I still need to work out the navigation override, it does work in some ways but current positions doesnt seem to update, but maybe just need more time, my short test drive was only 10mins or so.

Ahh I just assumed it was the same blue

I thought the amber indicators only came on if it was selected front or rear?

Yes, but the odd part is both front and rear amber comes on when you select the front, but only rear for the rear. Hope I didn't fk up the wiring but there's only 4 wires.

Hmmmmm weird. Well as long as you like it and know which camera is on the screen....or you’ll be in trouble. :)

What did you use to power the switch? Did you have to tap into the dash lights to illuminate the switch?

As per instructions. Black and red from the override harness and one from the relay.

Sorry, I really suck at wiring things. To dumb it down for me, is this accurate? The picture below is the diagram for the switch.

Black wire from override harness goes to red switch wire.
Red wire from override harness goes to orange switch wire.
Red wire from relay goes to green switch wire.
Black wires from relay and switch need to be grounded.

Yes. Sounds right. At least that's what I did with mine.
