Are you referring to the lines of the military stripes (dunno what the technical term is) signifying veteran owned? Both your comments seem to be in regards to that, if I’m understanding correctly.

I never realized they were supposed to be chevrons! It appeared, to me, they were just extra lines. It’s clear as day now that you pointed it out.
I’ve never seen chevrons used to signify a company is veteran owned. I come form a long line of veterans (WW II, Vietnam, Korean, Gulf War) and my Vietnam veteran FIL lives with me, so I’m pretty well versed about veterans and this is news to me.

    To all,

Recently relocated to the Dallas area and I’m looking into a sound upgrade. Budget about 8 to 900 bucks. What do you all recommend? I also need recommendations on a shop that can do the work?

    Thanks!

Welcome to Dallas. I know surround sound audio does pretty good work. Shop doesn't look like much but they do the electrical work for Lamborghini Dallas. Had a buddy get a system installed there and they do good work and are pretty knowledgeable about equipment. Apparently they give good cash discounts too.

As far as equipment recommendations go I cannot be of any help.

8-900 bucks with labor? that wont get very much

The 3rd gen front stage is a bit of a pain in the ass. on the cheap id say do the Subaru tweet upgrade, get a nice set of coax for the front, some 6.25 subs for the rear doors, 4 channel amp and a JL DSP.

Your best bet on money savings is doing the install yourself. If you get about 15 feet of speedwire it makes quick work of it. @Egnaro can probably provide some assistance on that.

If you go for pro install, you can still manage the doors and tweeters on your own - pretty straight forward with basic tools like wire cutters, panel tools and screw drivers. 2-400 to install a DSP and amp depending on where you have them mounted. another 1-200 to install the speakers. A decent set of front coax 150ish, subaru tweeters 50ish, 6.25 subs for the rear 150ish, 4 channel amp 150-200, JL DSP 300.

I might part with my front stage Hybrid audio Clarus components and 450w Audison amplifier. I’ll look up pricing, but that would prob eat up your budget

Speed wire is fantastic. Just get some factory Toyota plugs a Male and female so you can do your slicing and dicing without cutting the factory plug off the harness.

you can get some speed wire from cartoys, or at least that is where i got mine.

And if you are trying to do it cheap then you can save some money by only replacing the front speakers. No one hears the rear speakers anyway, the sound is blocked by the seats for the people up front and if you have people in the back their feet are blocking the speakers. And Rockford Fosgate is a moderately priced brand that is still a huge step up from factory. Or the kicker comp series...

With that being said.... are you trying to get a quality sound that is really good for acoustic music or are you wanting to just be loud AF?

This will help determine amp speakers and sub woofer size. An 8" sub is great for a lot of acoustic music, go with a shallow mount 10 or 12 if you want to be loud. Dayton audio makes some awesome speakers but they are typically used for indoor use but a ton of people use them in car audio.

Check out crutchfield.com and they have a couple walk through. They are a very expensive place to buy so shop around before you buy. i shop at sonicelectroix.com

I personally have Hybrid audio 6x9s & tweeters up front and 2 sundown audio SD3 10s. Its pretty loud.

If you have any questions on installing it yourself let me know. Its not hard.

yeah it has the remote wire for your amp and all your speaker wires to run to your doors wraped into 1 nice cable so you only run 1 cable and its nice and clean. If you get an after market head unit then you can run RCAs to your amp. wraped into 1 nice cable so you only run 1 cable and its nice and clean.

Here i found you a cheap amp to run in your truck. Its only $209.95 and its a 4,000 watt RMS 8,000 watt peak mono channel amp, aaannnnd it comes with an install kit. This should be able to power any sub you want.
