So my genius idea of the little baby 2 ton bottle jack between the arms of the UCA to push the bushings out was a fail. :anonymous:
Got enough tension to start to deform the UCA itself (not permanently) and the little shit wouldn't budge.
I guess since I'm gonna be going ham on them anyways I could just :laser: and get an oxy torch on there.

In better news I was reunited with my HF press jack handle and I just down nearly 23 MPG on my last tank, much better averages after the new tires. I'm nearly hitting the stock EPA numbers on a modded truck.:)

Not sure if you have stock ucas, but I would throw you my old ones if I still had them in the event you need to kill those things. Im sure someone has a set lying around.

Yeah stock UCAs. Grabbed a pair that was up for sale w/low mileage. I'd appreciate the hell outta that if I end up screwing these up! :D

My suspension plan is to stick w/stock-ish height and stock travel so I didn't need any UCA, but I want to kit out a set of stock uppers.

Gonna push out the bushings and ball joints, then get someone to weld up the holes on the back side of the bushing collars (dunno why they are even there!!) & drill/tap for zerks.
Then take em over to @2ndGenJonny maybe and powdercoat them in some (semi) outrageous color.
Then install JBA bushings, and Moog greasable UBJs on there. Hood ass camburgs right there.

Well shit now everyone suddenly has extras!

All good, no worries. I may hit you up too if I thrash these.

Yeah at this point I am feeling a little discouraged. The stupid collars means my fancy new press can't do jack, my stopgap solution can't do it either, so I'm back to square one and I have this terrible feeling of throwing good money after bad when I could just save up for "real" UCAs...

Haha watching Barrett Jackson and gas monkey garage part timer Dennis had his fully built 2018 jeep with his house brand black mountain gear sell for 28k. Slightly better build went for 45. Gotta imagine that's a solid loss/write off for him.

Eff this I'm probably just gonna get the JBAs and ask if I can get them w/out powdercoat and do my own color.

The ball joint adapter tool for Lexus/Toyota is like $90, I've already spent $100 on the press itself, and by the time I get the tool and the UBJs and the bushings I'm almost all the way to their ask of $450...

    Boom, that’s it.
My wife told me we’re just as engaged/married with a ring pop as a gaint ring. That’s just the symbol of what’s behind it.
Granted I didn’t listen to her an spend a chunk of change.

Being at the age where both of our friends are all getting married or are, I was told something similar very early into the relationship getting “serious”. For a while I told her I wanted to wait until I graduated and was in a better financial situation, but when you’re ready you’re ready. Saved up about 70% of what her ring cost and put the rest on cc. It’ll still be a few years before I could afford in cash without worry for what I spent, and it being a “symbol of love” I knew she’d never let me upgrade her in the future, so I did what I did. We’re happy, and give me 5yrs after I graduate and I should be able to make ya debt free, ready to buy our house. Unless kids sneak in. Either way, no regerts.
I got a buddy that I think will do ours, but thanks for the offer.

And on the Nitori thing, is that legal? How does the pillow sign the marriage license?
