    It will explode if I try to pressure bleed it without it attached to the trans. But I can squeeze it by hand and work the air bubble out the bleed nipple I think

    i keep forgeting your using pressure. vacuum bleeder and it unbolted would work best.

    other option is to let it gravity bleed for a little bit.. might slowly work its way out

    Yeah it is not a great design. Honestly the fork position on this doesn't make much sense to me, there's plenty of room on the side of the trans, why does it need to be on the bottom.
