I would love to do that but I don't have the original harness / pin. I don't have the receptacle that the plug plugs into when I bought my truck it was already unhooked

I have been looking at local junkyards and checking all over. Even if I just found the clip with a messed up 7 pin plug....

Can anybody clear this up for me and tell me what wire goes where? I bought a universal plug from U-Haul that has the four flat that plugs into the four flat now I have to hook in my electric brake controller reverse and the power. If anybody can tell me what color are those wires are could be a lifesaver

How are you planning to run trailer brakes with a 4 flat plug?

It is a universal plug you plug the four flat and to make the other four flat. Then you have to run the electric brake wire, the reverse wire, and the power wire. After you run those three wires that gives you your 7 pin. My problem is I don't know where to put my black, blue and purple wire into the factory harness. As stated before I don't have the plug that comes off of the harness I'm going just into the harness itself in front of the plug if that makes sense

If you look at the schematic, you see the truck harness colors are different than the colors after the connector. so, on the truck harness side, you will have
    trailer brake+ Yellow
    Back up red/white
    Battery charge wire grey

Also, you need to make sure the ground wire is large enough wire to carry the load of the trailer brakes.

I'm guessing that the white is faded out yellow. Check it with a multimeter while somebody pushes the brake controller or the brake pedal.

So I just use a big piece of all thread and propped it up against the seat put pressure on the brake light and Wallah that white wire has power now so apparently it is a faded yellow like you said

At 1st you scared me when I started to read about allthread. LOL. Good job.

For further confirmation, I figured out the wire connector numbering sequence based on comparing your pic and the terminal numbers on the schematic.

Brother all I can say is you rock, and yes I use all thread to help wrap my wires around LOL. One more question the only wire that is not connected is the white with a black stripe what is it for do you know?

White/black is always ground on these trucks. So, your U Haul connector is getting ground from the flat 4 connector. (White wire) The ground terminal in the 7 way is used for the lights and also for the ground for the trailer brakes. That's why I mentioned to make sure the ground wire is heavy enough to carry the load of the trailer brakes. The ground wire should be at least as big as the trailer brake+ wire.
