Removing Push Button Start

Hey guys, I know I'm gonna get a hard time for this, but I was wondering if it's possible to have a push button start in a 3rd gen replaced with a traditional key like the SR5's have. Yes I know I'm crazy, just looking for your knowledge! Thank you!

Lol thank you...some people have told me it's possible and some people have told me the computer wouldn't allow it. Still Taco shopping so I need to figure out whether or not it can be changed out before I really make any solid decisions on what I want!

 

Get a manual, problem solved.

 

Not a fan of the push button myself but all new cars will have them at some point.

 

Definitely considering that. Budgeting for used though, so just want to have as many options as possible!

 

NO, sensors inside detect the fob, would have to fool them also, so NO,, why would anybody want to ,,

 

Because I'm clumsy and don't want to be losing keys in the car or driving off without them.

I have never had push to start but it is a pretty cool feature. I am sure that you will get used to leaving your key FOB in your purse or pocket.

 

Most of my clothes don't have pockets and right now my purse stays in the trunk

I’ve had a couple of times I have forgot to turn off the engine, because of being on the phone or my dog running all over me to get out. Never left it on long, but I also would prefer an old fashion key..

 

In the ignition hopefully where it should be lol

I had a rental car with a push button that I left running by accident and put the keys in the lock box before I realized...had to call their AAA number so they could break into it

 

I think the question was more:

Ehh... where are you going to keep a key when you are not drivng the truck then?
