I can't be the only one, even though I don't have a Taco yet

Anyone else and for what reason?

I do...I have an 04 but it's a manual nonetheless. I've only driven manuals here in LA since I was 19, so about 15 years now. No regerts

Reason...I like them far better. I drive a lot, and I drive too much to not have fun doing it. I think manuals are far more fun and enjoyable. Also more enjoyable offroad. More challenging, yea sometimes...but more rewarding. That's my take on it anyway.

I drive mine everywhere. The MT is MUCH better than the AT in the third gen. The 4.30 rear end and gearing are much better suited for the motor in this truck.

And the way I see it, you're not in traffic all day now, so once it's over, the fun begins

I will admit I got stuck behind New Year's Day holiday traffic going up a mountain highway to get to the snow a few weeks back, and it sucked...hard. Stop and go traffic for over an hour on a steep incline. We eventually peeled off and took the snowy fire roads the rest of the way up and beat everyone, so it was worth it lol. It occasionally has it's drawbacks but overall, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I drive my MT truck in the city. Not a big deal considering on any given day I can operate many different MT's. A Massey Ferguson tractor, John Deere tractor, 2 Kubota L5740's, agricultural sprayers, Dakota turf tender, Toro workmans, Cushmans and I'm sure I'm forgetting some other machines. So even after operating MT all day at work I'll still drive an EASY MT truck. Operating is my life and the people who use the "I live in the city with traffic" as an excuse I just cannot respect.

I drive mine everyday in Chicago traffic, but then again I've driven a manual car for over 10 years.

You gotta teach me to drive those someday

Seen a few sti's and evo 8/9's in Manhattan, few 500 Abarths before they made auto versions and whatnot in the 5 boroughs w/NY plates, so if they can do it, so can we

This guy, in Nashville traffic, which has been increasing steadily over the years. I didn't even bother driving an auto before buying the manual. I had a 2017 GTI manual as a daily driver prior to my 2019 Tacoma. They are both a blast to drive in VERY different ways. No more loop around exit ramps at 70 mph. haha

GF has an auto golf (manual got sold before she was ready), those things are a blast

I remember Chattanooga, it was definitely interesting there.

Is it just there or does everyone in TN tailgate?

Tennessee has pretty bad drivers in general. A lot of drivers have somewhere important they need to be and you should yield to their superior driving skills immediately.

It's the reason why insurance rates are so high. We have so many accidents here. All for various reasons, but a majority due to following too closely. Which is why my 2017 Taco got totaled.
