    Hey Guys,

can you run 285/75/16 on a stock TRD OR rim? it says it needs a 7.5in rim to work correctly... also is anyone currently running this set up on their truck?

I remember seeing someone doing this, but I think they used a small spacer to help clear the UCAs. You'll still need the CMC and pinch weld, of course.

You're gonna shred those 285s to pieces . Spacers won't help.

Yep. It's about the width not the height.

I did for a couple years. Ran a 1.25" spacer to clear the control arm. I didn't need to chop the cab mount until I installed Camburg upper control arms...

I ran them on my Gen 2 and it essentially turned my OffRoad into an UnRoad-worthy vehicle. It hit all the time and heaven forbid you hit a pebble in a turn it'd rip the fender off - and it basically did. DON'T DO IT.
    I'm running 275s on my Gen 3 with a 3" lift and it's a lot better. I tap every once in a while, but it's a non-issue.

I have BFG on my stock offload wheels. They rub at full turn on the UCA. I have tc uca and no spacers tho, I do however have a CMC. I ask my tire guy at americas tire and they said I could run a 285/75/16 fine....I was worried about the tire to rim width ratio as well.

I've had 285/75/16 tires on my offroad wheels for 2 years.... Using a 1" spacer. Did a CMC and lightly trimmed the fenders and have zero rubbing.

Yup... running 285/75/16's with 2 1/2" front lift on OME's. Had a little rub, nothing 20 seconds with a grinder (per side) couldn't cure.

I ran them with leveling kit and 1” tapered rear blocks. I did need 1” spacers to push wheels out for proper clearance. Works perfect.

    That looks small for a 285 70 17.

Must be photo quality. They are in fact 285/70/17 Nitto Terra Grappler load range C. 44 lbs each now installed on Fuel Beast 17x9.

I didn’t have to cut anything. Depends alot on offset. I wanted them to tuck in as much as possible. Like the aggressive look but did not want to deal with rubbing.

I'm going to guess you don't wheel though.

Because I'm yet to hear one person that can stuff a wheel and not rub.

He speaks the truth. This is what it takes to run 285s
