That’s what the Toyota rep said when he looked at my truck

 

Can anyone with this issue (like myself) acknowledge the earliest date Toyota was informed of the problem? Apparently dealerships continued to sell these Tacomas after the issue was known, and should have been making buyers aware at the very least.

 

This is exactly why I picked Super White. Living in FL, white holds up the best to the brutal sun.

 

White does have a tendency to yellow somewhat over time.

Toyota Super White does not have a Clear Coat so maybe it wont yellow.

 

Funny you say that, while I did not mention it in my first post, I was parked next to a late Gen 2 white Tacoma with my new 2019 white Tacoma yesterday. It was pretty noticeable the yellowing on the Gen 2 Tacoma white paint job.

 

I could only hope this doesn't happen to my truck!

 

I think the only trucks it's happening to is that Blue.

 

I saw this in one of the Facebook groups, Looks like they definitely know they have a problem.

 

I am having the same exact issues with the clear coat on my truck!!! The problem started last summer and I wasn't sure what was happening. I thought it would buff out after I waxed it. NOPE!!! I called my dealership to explain and they said there was a 3 year warranty on paint. I took it in and they had a FTP take a look. They were willing to re-paint the hood and roof. Having never had a new vehicle, let alone one that costed 45k, I found this unacceptable! I told them at the initial inspection, what's to say the problem won't spread to the body? And now it is! I want the WHOLE truck re-painted. Now they are saying they're doing me a favor since the truck is out of the 36,000 mile/3 year warranty. It wasn't when I brought this to their attention. Plus, I drive between Sacramento and Reno quite often for work so I don't feel that all the driving affected the paint and the mileage warranty is invalid.

No that’s just the primer coat.

 

My coworker has a white 2nd gen and paint peeled off his hood, doors, roof and bumper. Completely in areas

 

This is a 2017 TRD sport super white

 

Bring it in to the dealer, still under warranty no? At the very least file a claim with toyota
