For those that have done the CS144 upgrade. What are the 3 prongs for? I’ve already plugged in the adapter to the Toyota plug

 

I've never seen those prongs on a GM alternator. Or any other manufacturer for that matter. Maybe its for a new style dual rectifier.

 

nice. I like it. Gonna have to pick one up. They have a tranny skid now too which is nice. Shame no tcase skid though. I can build that though.

Thats for the wind sheild heater for the Cadillac it was designed to fit in. Thats why its a nice alternator as it has such a high output at idle for that reason.

Just put some E tape on them and you're good. Probably won't hit anything anyways.

Yeah, The tranny skid will be next and then I'll do like you and build the tcase one.

This skid alone weighs a ton. I figure a good 45/50lbs or so. Maybe a little more. I'll weigh it tomorrow before installing.

Air compressor is installed. Still need to finish up doing the wiring.

The dreaded PO420 finally caught up with me today. Thought I had taken care of it after tightening the O2 sensors just a little, haven’t had any trouble in about two weeks. Randomly came up as a pending code today, then set the CEL. The odd thing is it would set a ‘pending trouble code PO420’ as soon as I start the truck.

My guess is the cat as @eon_blue mentioned...and since the code refers directly to the cat. The sensors are brand new Denso, I highly doubt that would be the issue. The other odd thing is I don’t think I’ve noticed any drastic performance change. On the way home tonight I hit around 18.5 MPG from the start of the trip.

 

I didn't notice any difference in performance with my p0420 until about a year after the first time I got the code, that was when I finally gave in and got (both) cats replaced. That was over a year ago and it's been golden ever since.

I had to replace a rear O2 about 3 months ago due to a P0136 code, sensor looked like it had been in a BBQ...probably from when I was driving around with a failing cat for so long.

 

You won't see a performance hit from a p0420
