Alignment Specs (heeelp!)

Gotta ask im a 2nd gen but need an alignment bad. 255/85/16 on 16x8.5 4.5” backspaced wheels. Should i ask for the 0 toe 0 camber 2.5+ caster?

 

What was your original wheel and tire size?

 

Ive had this wheel/ tire setup with king 2.5’s set at approximately 2 1/2” for awhile now. Also tc uca’s. Front lift is moderate. I think ive always gotten the truck set to factory specs and didn’t really realize i could give some #’s to better get me where i need to be

What year and model truck do you have?
Need to know the OEM wheel and tire size.

 

2014 tacoma. So I believe it would be 7.5x16 oem wheels

 

Sorry to jump in the thread like this but can anyone tell me if there is any problems with this alignment? Anything to worry about in the future? Just done a few days ago after lift/ level install.

No pulling either direction. No rubbing. No vibrations. Ride seems pretty much the same as before the lift and alignment.

2017 sr5 4x4, came with 245s, I upgraded to 265/75/16, stock UCAs, 3/1 lift/level.

Should be 16x7 ET 30 with a 265 70 16...
Your new wheels and tire increase positive scrub by 1".
I'd go:
+2.5 caster
+0.25 camber
+0.05 toe-in

 

Speaking of alignment. How strong are the axles on these trucks. Rear passenger tire drove over a part of a curb turning into a parking lot at 3-5mph. Shook me up a bit.

Got my alignment done today hoping it would get rid of the rubbing I have on the cab mount. Now it rubs much less but still rubbing nonetheless. My question is..increasing the caster should do the trick right? Or is a cmc definitely necessary?

Running 5100s all around with ome888 springs and brand new JBA ucas with 285/75/16 falken at3w and trd beadlock style wheels + 1.25 spidertrax.

Just officially joined Tacoma world but spent many weeks lurking in the forums lol

thanks. i've searched several ways but couldnt find it. i have a lifetime alignment with a shop here in bham and i'm not happy with it. started searching here after i sheared a rear center pin. i replaced it but after my last alignment it seems to be a little "loose". i was going to take it somewhere else but needed the numbers.

 

Hi guys! I’m about do a suspension install on my truck and I’m hoping someone can chime in and help me out with some alignment specs for my post-install setup. Going to be running Dirt King Heim’d UCA’s with King 2.5 ext travel coils (set at 2.5 inches of lift), and Dakar HD springs. Wheels are 16x8 with 3.5” backspacing and -25 offset. Tires are 265/75/16. From what I’ve read it sounds like I want to shoot for around +4 caster, but I’m slightly confused as to what camber/toe I should aim for. I know it should be close to 0, but I think I need to take into account the squat factor? And scrub? (Confused as to exactly what these are and how I need to compensate for them). Thank you in advance for any and all help.

 

+4 is too much caster for 265/75/16. Too much will bumpsteer and transmit more road shock, especially with the 2" of added scrub. More caster creates more movement of the camber and toe under dynamic conditions. I run +2.5 on stock rims with 265/75/16. Since you have an additional 2" of positive scrub to overcome, I suggest +2.8.

Camber should be +0.5; +0.6 driver/+0.4 passenger if you want to compensate for road crown.

Toe should be +0.05. With the 2" of added scrub, I'd go +0.07

That will change the additional scrub to about 1-5/8", so...
+3 caster
+0.5 camber
+0.06 toe

Soooo... after going back and forth, and doing some research, I decided to go 295/75/16. Tires should be here in a few days. What should I ask the alignment shop to shoot for? Thank you again for all your help.
