    It's true though.
    Outside being a unibody, fully independent suspension ugly Honda, it's actually better at doing so called 'truck things' than a Taco.

    And gets better mpg, and ride.
    Dunno how it would do as an off-road rig but hey it can haul and tow way better than our trucks

    I thought poking fun at the Ridgeline was funny...mostly cause I think the Ridgeline was cool looking a couple years back...and now...not so much. BUT...I love my Taco.

    Not sure if you checked out my truck, but the only thing left on the limited is the chrome fog light covers. And I'll take my Limited over your ridgeline. I can start posting pics of trail riding also, or I can just leave you with your ridgeline buddy here that evidentially likes seamen on his face lol. He obviously has no idea what goes on in the Navy.

    I’ve been running 275/70/17 E rated tires for over 20k miles now. There a slight loss in power, maybe 1 MPG loss. If you air them up to 38+ Psi it can create a harsher ride but I keep mine at 34 psi and i didn’t notice a ride difference from stock to now. As people say on here yeah it’s harder on the power train, but I don’t see any data backing up saying it’ll wear anything down faster. My buddy has been running E rated 33’s on his 16’ Tacoma and he has 80k miles now with zero issues. To each his own. I don’t drive a race car or Prius so I’m fine with the very minimal MPG loss and slight power loss. Just my .02.

    Wheel bearings will wear a bit faster.
    Internals in your driveline will be working harder so wears them too.

    Now is it something where it will be a drastic difference? Not at these sizes . But it is wearing a bit more.

    All depends what you're willing to accept .Also depends on use . Road only probably not as bad

    E-Rated tires are overkill for our trucks unless it's a dedicated trail rig. I really liked my 265/75r16 Duratracs (C load) when my truck was stock height, kinda wish to go back to that now. My current Coopers are +20lbs heavier and even with the lift, I still have to do some more trimming and bending to not rub off road.

    Plenty of folks run 275 and 285 e-rated tires. I run them on my GX. They’re noticeably heavier than the stock tires, but not bad. Feeling the cracks in the highway is the biggest difference. Zero change in bounce due to unsprung weight.

    I ran c-rated 265 Duratracs on my Tacoma and they were way too soft for me. Felt like I was driving on marshmallows. I would not buy them again.

    I ran K02 E in 265/70-17 on my 2nd gen, They were noticeably heavier while changing tires, and when they were pumped up to 36psi on the highway you felt everything. They were 100% better than the old p series tires once the trailer was hooked up though.

    I'll probably do it again when these OEM tires wear out.

    Is there another similar tire that comes in C rated. My friend has Falken Wildpeaks that I believe are C rated. Should have similar performance. I have 10ply tires and while I don't notice fuel economy drops, you are correct about the ride. It is harsher than stock, though I have no comparisons with a C rated tire to be able to say how much harsher vs what you are after.

    I was concerned e rated would ride like boulders based on some of the comments I've read on TW but they're fine. People like to justify their purchases so all opinions need to be taken with a grain of salt. I understand the irony

    I think you guys are exaggerating both ends of this... An E rated tire isn't going to crater your MPG or kill the ride, but it will make some difference and is probably unnecessary for a lot of folks. Don't let the shop corner you into buying something you don't want. If you want the C's then find them online somewhere and take them in to get them mounted. Or if you feel better about the E's then just buy them.

    I went from C rated Duratracs to E rated St Maxx and I can barely tell the difference. I drive a lot of highway miles to get to the places I hunt and fish and the difference in MPG's was not noticeable. Then after that it's all shitty access roads that are barely maintained. I feel a lot better with E rated tires when I'm 500 miles from home and have no cell service.

    i think for different brands its more of an impact.

    I noticed a significant difference for my C rated vs D rated duratrac.
    Not a deal breaking difference but it is very noticeable especially in the rear with no weight when you go over bumps etc with the D rated vs C rated, and E rated would be even more so.

    Even now from my winters being passenger rated to my Duratracs in the summer D rated its a big difference. Espeically on fuel.
    even with winter gas being on the passenger rated its easy for me to get 10-11L/100km highway, with the D rated i'm usually more around 12-13L/100km highway.

    my C rated where around 11-12L/100km so for fuel its not that much of a difference.
    The ST Maxx are a much nicer riding tire than the Duratrac being a little less aggressive from what I've noticed. So that could be why.
    With that in mind tire design can be a big difference in ride quality. Take a mud terrain vs all terrain. The AT is usually more comfortable.
