    Turning 34 this year...

Here I got used to being one of the youngest people in various car forums. Dammit, where does the time go!?! I remember being in high school and shitposting on WRX forums.:anonymous:

So I'm like onea those guys with the tragic backstory- I graduate college in 2007 and get a fancy job in the finance industry being a software wiz and designing the interface for what is now Morningstar's asset tracker.
Come the 2008 recession I'm out on my ass. Having a terrible time trying to find a job, my nana dies very suddenly of cancer we all thought she had beaten, and my riding buddy kills himself out of the clear blue sky. Feels like everything is coming apart at the seams.
Then I get a 24 hour flu one day and... well... the joint pain & tiredness just didn't stop. Ever. For about 10 years now. Fuck Lupus, no cure yet but living in AZ has done wonders for me. I'm being preserved by the dry air, like jerky or something.

It's funny too, people describe me as a very happy person. Maybe that is the case, I realized you gotta have a positive attitude and outlook as much as you can. Life may suck and we all end up in the same place but you can't stay upset for too long or it all starts to pass you by.

The few times I ever bought xtr I managed to magically break it. Xt is a good group with no compromise which imo you actually get what you pay for.

Definitely thought you were like 24-25. I guess it makes sense though, your forum skills have aged and allowed you to take a 10 word question and turn it into a novel haha

6 shocks down, 2 to go on the shock rebuild for this truck. Even had to do all the top cap seals (pain in the ass).

I work from 6:30 to 4:30, go home and eat dinner then head to the shop from 5:00 to ??? All said and done there is about 20 hours that goes into rebuilding all the shocks for this truck. Thankfully that are pretty small and easy to do.

Thats how I managed to get all the other bearings out. The damn main shaft and shift drum bearing are the only ones that didn't budge and they're closed off on the other side. I stuck the cases in the oven at 240 and wacked the crap out of them on a couple 2x4'. The rubber mallet helped too but no luck

Dang. That’s how we used to do it when I was at my old shop. It almost always worked, but when it didn’t we had other tools to pull them. Unfortunately I don’t have access to them anymore. My next suggestion would be to take the cases to your local auto parts store and see what tools they have for rental that might work. You might have to get creative, but I’m betting there will be something that will work.

I think I have a problem, I cant stop buying cars even if I don't have a use for them. Picked this up yesterday. 1 owner, every service record since new. Drives like new 331,000 miles. Motor, tranny all have been rebuilt. Not sure if I want to keep the shell if anyone is interested.

I wouldn't get rid of the shell. Perfect vehicle to transport future purchases safely and dry.

Ok I’m late to the party......

45 next week, married for 11 years, 3 kids: 21, 9 and 7. Had several routine doctor appointments yesterday, vision hasn’t gotten worse, still blind but I read! Still need to schedule my annual physical. Currently rocking the Ramsey debt snowball plan, already paid off $35k since we started in April. Minivan is free and clear, still owe on the truck but it will be paid off by summer if not late spring. Still owe on the house but we are looking to downsize soon and take on a 15 year mortgage and pay off in half the time. For my birthday present we paid off 2 more debts! Wife owns her own hair salon business in Gilbert and I work for a major financial institution downtown.

I paid $1800 to the nice 70 year old lady.

I am not sure if it will fit. I do not like shells, never have. Sell yours, buy mine.

Exactly! It is an expensive one for sure. I am cooling off on acquiring more until something changes in the market. Things are a bit out of touch with reality. Though Williams does seem attractive.....

I read that you smashed a bunch of debt, which is awesome! If you ever have any questions about REI just let me know! Happy to answer.

Auto parts stores rent blind bearing pullers, it’s like a slide hammer with a collet you get in there nice and tight under the lip.

As silly as it sounds, heat gun set to max. Worked like a charm when replacing crankcase bearings in a dirt bike. Takes a long time but heats super evenly because no flame.
