My wife and I can usually go thru a pound of coffee in a week and a half. We love this little coffee shop/cafe near us called Ant Farm that serves Nossa Familia coffee and we just get a pound at a time of their ground full cycle espresso blend.

Picked up the Gaggia last night. It runs (seemingly) perfect. Ordered cleaning stuff for it just now and deciding on a grinder. Damn things are expensive. To spend $400 or $600 :annoyed:

Look at Baratza grinders. And check the refurbished. (Refurbished grinders come with all the accessories that a new grinder comes with, and also our full 1 year warranty.) Ask them for one if you do not see it, sometimes they are slow to add them to the site. They still offer warranty on refurb. They have trade in offers, too.
I have only used Baratza, except for my manual grinders. To me they are great for home use.

They only had the Sette 270Wi on refurb. I’ve heard too many issues with the Baratza Sette line though. I have had the Encore for probably 4 years now with no issues though.

I ended up ordering a Eureka Mignon Specialita straight from Italy. It came out to $432. If purchased through the US they are about $670.

How do yall feel about bones coffee? I just tried there eggnog and s'mores that I got for Christmas. Navy ship coffee has ruined my judgement for life. Pretty much anything fresh ground tastes good to me now.

They’re supposed to be pretty quiet compared to the Baratza. There’s a video on the website I got it from and they did a decibel test with the iPhone app and it was about 52 I think.
    That’s cheap compared to others!

I personally feel any flavored coffee is garbage. (Keep in mind this is a coffee snob thread) you shouldn’t need to flavor your coffee to make it good. A good roasted coffee and made well will have lots of flavors of that particular beans origin(s) and roast

Ehh I wouldnt dismiss all flavored coffee though on the sole principle that it's only flavored to disguise shitty beans.

I do. Again, coffee snob. A flavored coffee just ruins a good bean. If it was a good bean and roast, you wouldn’t need to add anything else.

For instance: this morning my coffee has a flavor profile of milk chocolate, Fuji apple, and dried fruits. Idk which “dried fruits” there were, but I definitely tasted the chocolate and apple throughout the cup. The last sip was almost like eating a Carmel covered apple.

I suppose this would be a flat white. Came out drinkable. Can’t wait until I get my Specialita in and can really dial in the machine and pull consistent shots

worst coffee I ever had was at a Safeway gas station...I took one sip and dumped it out of the window of my truck. Only reason I got it was i was in a hurry and didnt have time to stop and get a cup somewhere else on my way to work. It tasted like it was filtered through some week old gym socks.
