Got it. I wasn't calling you out or anything. We were just trying to figure out whether they were still on national backorder or if this was a new national backorder. Thanks for confirming.

Is there like a mailing list we can subscribe to when they're back in stock?

I ordered my EMU kit from them. However, this is the kit I WISH i bought. This will be a solid setup and LROR is a good company, they even make some of their own stuff.

Headstrong Offroad is a good place to get this kit as well.

I have the second GEN kit on my third GEN, you get about a half inch more lift, this is mine at top Notch with quarter inch spacer on driver side

    Marie here now LOL :)

IMHO whenever you are looking on line to buy something it is always good to cross reference the part numbers listed with the actual manufactures website so you know 100% that you are getting the parts for the correct model year. In the case of the 6112's they are different from 05-15 and 2016-current and do not cross over from one model year to the other the same way something like a true coilover (Fox, Icon, ADS, King) do.

Right after the 3rd gen specific 6112's came out I created a write up on TacomaWorld comparing them to the 2nd gens ones. There is information on there regarding lift heights and other spec’s on them. Here is a link to that if you want to check it out. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-6112s-in-stock-and-ready-to-ship.475708/

Since the 3rd gens were redesinged from the 05-15 their stock measurements are different. So the over stock lift heights spec'd out by Bilstein for 2nd gen 6112's will not be the same if placed on a 3rd gen. For example:

    2nd Gen (05-15) Tacoma Bilstein 6112 part number : 46-241627

Guide shows that the 5th notch setting will provide AROUND 2.46" if you were to place this on a 3rd gen you would see something different. I had said 1.46" in my original response, but I didn't really factor in initial preload at this particular notch and difference in extended length of 3rd Gen 6112s. Now results do vary per trim etc but since it was not designed for the 3rd gens there is no guide or definitive real-world data that spec's it out.

Marie would be a great place to purchase from based on her knowledge and customer service. I measured the clip settings on the third GEN, and it was lower than the second GEN, I received more height by going with the second GEN shock - At top Notch with quarter inch spacer on driver side without settling I received 3 inches of lift, both left and right sides in the front. The third GEN shock if I remember correctly did decrease the amount of travel from the second GEN.

I have purchased this exact kit and have it scheduled to be installed next week. I will update once it is on. I asked the same question to Low Range Off-road about being second gen and they told me it could be installed on my 3rd gen. Hope they are right! It is listed under the 3rd gen section on their website.

I have 2nd gen on my 18 - except I am running full icon rxt leaf Springs in the second configuration, that is supposed to give 2.25 inches, roughly gave me 2.9 inches of lift in the rear

Looks good! Would you recommend putting on a full leaf pack instead of the provided AAL in this kit? Thanks

If you have the funds, the ride quality is very much improved over my factory pack. If you do not have the funds, and you want to order from low range, see if they can swap out the single add a leaf for a three leaf. The three leaf will give the same amount of lift, but a better ride. The single add a leaf does work better in a situation that you carry weight all the time .

I also vouch for Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road. I have had their 6112/5160 kit installed with Dakar medium leafs for about 15 months. Still working well. She will preset the shocks at the settings you request when you order. Mine were set at 4/5 setting for the 3rd Gen 6112. No Diff drop or extended brake lines needed but I did install the included carrier bearing drop bracket and bracket for the brake lines.

I would do the full leaf pack personally. Truck handles weight much better and does not suffer with a harsh ride even when RTT is installed.

nice, did you take any before and after lift measurements?

i'm looking to get a total 2.0 to 2.5 inch lift and level out of this kit. would going up to notch 5/6 cause a rougher ride? do you recommend going with the 4/5 notch setting?

I'm not really sure why you would say it is incorrect as I am not stating any facts as to lift heights

Yes, correct some of the notch settings are lower if you look at my side-by-side photos they even show that. Also the add extended length of the 2nd gen can affect lift heights as well.

What I was trying to point out is that I have had customers think they will get the 2.46" of lift over stock and they just haven't. It didn't quite work out for them like it did you. This is why I said "now this does vary per trim etc but since it was not designed for the 3rd gens there is no guide or definitive real-world testings". Meaning can you run them sure, but it can be a guessing game as to how much height you will see.

Also FWIW most people indicate that they gained added lift when system was first put on but over time settle in close to what Bilstein spec's out. This seems to be common among all generations.

I ended up with around roughly 1.65-1.8 inches of lift all around based on post vs. pre measurements which was pretty close to spec sheet for 3rd gen 6112. The Dakars would have provided more lift if I did not have a shell and taco bed mat plus some gear.

I would do the 5/6 setting if you want 2-2.5 inches of lift. I sometimes wish I had gone with that setting but don't want to take the time to redo it. I wasn't interested in a 2.75-3 inch lift cause it sometimes starts to cause issues and vibration due to drive line angle stuff. I am also running stock UPC arms and wanted to increase performance and keep a great ride. Some just want the 3 inch lift for looks and tires. I was more interested in performance and gaining a little height for the type of off-roading I do. Plus I already knew I would be running 33 inch skinnies and would gain even more height.

Maybe that is what could happen on this thread...

    People can post their:
    Model year
Trim of truck (Drive train, engine size, tranny)
    What generation 6112's they have
Which notch setting they have them at
Their before and after lift measurements
along with how long the 6112's have be installed

This way it at least services as a test group for people to gather some actual real world data since not much is out there otherwise

Only thing with this is that it would be best for the truck to be stock weight ie no bumpers, front skid, super charger, etc since that will directly influence the end result.

    all tore up already
I've run similar setup for about 3 years and 35000 miles. I'd replace diff drop for ecgs bushing for sure. I went with 3 leaf aal and didnt do any brake lines. Maybe a 1/4 inch spacer for drivers side.

Ride definately improved over stock, has held up decent to new England winters. Looks cool and installs pretty easy. Recommend picking up a uca bolt from dealer. Rear shocks alone make such a difference

2016 TRD sport access cab manual v6. Not much extra weight. Old version 6112 on 4th clip and idk how much I'm lifted but I'm taller than a pro for sure

I edited my post, I did not mean to insinuate that you were incorrect in that manner. I gathered info from 4-5 others that ran 2nd gen and 3rd gen 6112 at top notch, to come up with findings. On a Facebook group discussion on 6112, 2 other offroad shops Rogue, and ORW confirmed my finding about the 2nd gen getting about 1/2” more total lift than the 3rd gen 6112 at top settings. I appreciate all the help and support you provide.
