Turned out to be nice day up here , think it got up to 60° . Looking to the SW you can see the clouds stacked on the North side of the mtn ranges but up here clear blue skies

    Yes.
Kinda sad how reality rears it’s head and you have to be more than the paycheck..
It’s not just about fixing cars..
I could make a lot more money but I sleep real good at night.
    I have my integrity..
I have respect from my peers
    I’m not rich, kinda poor.
Worked my ass off all my life.. but everything I have I own.
If they put “He Was A Pretty Good Tech” on my gravestone then I think
I have made my family proud
    I was asset....

These kids is all about the money. No matter what anything for the buck.
Unfortunately business has gone that way.
    They run the numbers..
    You need to produce more..
Quality??? Long gone ,,,,,,,left only to the old timers.
    Yea I guess I’m old..

The business will kill you unless you learn to just do your job and do it right.
    Forget the numbers.
Do it for you not for anyone else.
Unfortunately I struggle with this everyday now.
So much working against us now..

And they wonder why the trades are in trouble.

The trades have been in trouble. The unfortunate thing is as long as there's an endless line of people willing to give it a shot, the people who are established and can produce are going to make less and less. There'll always be a few in that endless line that will actually be motivated (by whatever motivates them) to keep their heads down and put in the effort to learn it and stick with it....but the trades are an endangered species.

Took the sand separator out and ran a couple shovels full through it but the sand is still too wet and the stone isn't as clean as I'd like it. I could wash it as it's running then I'll just end up with a gutter full of wet sand and a mess I don't want to mess with.

Anyway, I made this just by cutting 4 ports into the drum and then patching them over with screen. If I ever want to mix concrete with it again I can just patch the ports with some sheet metal....pretty high tech stuff here.

    I agree, look into it.
As for going back to school, do it!
Since 2009 I have been back to school twice.
It was hard. Being the oldest person in class.
Sure at times I felt dumb compared to the kids who were fresh out of high school. But I got a good feeling when they would ask me for help and advice.

Evening Susan, glad you got heat! I used to have electric baseboard heat in my house in Asheville. Couldn't imagine having that up here LOL.

Have 4" so far and climbing. Trying to take snowflake pictures. No not those snowflakes the real ones.

But it doesn't seem to want to get below 12° and needs to so they will form better. Not sure if I should complain about that or not...
