Yeah that's what seems to be the standard. Why is it exactly? My 265/65/17's only have 5k miles on them so keeping them would've been nice

Definitely I would much rather have the 265/70/17s but I'm trying to save a lil $$$

    I just haven't seen anyone run the 265/65s so I wasn't sure

Do it and replace with the 70’s when they wear out. Or choose a different brand tire at that size and offload the DT’s, someone will buy them.

The 265/70 is the standard for the 17 and 265/75 for the 16.

265/65R17 duratracs have an approved rim width range of 7.5-9.5 inches. when i was researching tires for the same wheel, i found most 265/65R17s have a minimum approved width of 7.5 inches and the sema wheel is 17x7.

a few people here have put on 265/65s, but some tire shops won't install them because the wheels don't meet tire spec.

sure, plenty of people run 265/65R17s on the Sema wheels, but to say no tire shop is going to look at that is completely false.

this thread is from a poster that had a shop refuse the installation and there are a number of members on this site who have had the same experience: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-pro-4-runner-rims-with-stock-trd-sport-tires.580413/

as crazy as this might sound, some businesses don't want the liability of installing something that doesn't meet manufacturer's specifications. costco won't install tires that exceed a certain % of the OEM size.

there was nothing untrue or "fake news" about pointing out that the Sema wheels don't fit within Goodyear's specs for the Duratracs. will every shop refuse installation? no, but some absolutely will, which is why my original comment said that SOME tire shops won't install them.

The red TRD letters on the center caps of my wheels has turned white. Anyone know how to remedy this besides buying vinyl decals to stick on top? Thanks!
