Doesnt he have a v6 and his year uses that weird tube maf instead of a senor that goes in on the side

What you have is a 95.5-98 intake. 99-04 is different. For 99-04 that "missing piece" that you need to mount the MAF sensor is one piece with the air box, it doesn't come off. 95.5-98 MAF is a complete cylindrical unit that unbolts from the air box.

I was gonna ask you which of your trucks you need this for but both of your trucks should have the new style intake. The one pictured won't work for you.

 

I’m just going off experience. I’m sure other ones are different. I know for a fact my K&N CAI made me reuse the metal MAF tube.

They still go in the same way. The v6 one may have a different sensor, but they both use the same tube if I recall correctly. I’m too lazy to pull out my trailer and check the 5-Lug.

Yeah a pain but pays good if you can get customer to unplug fridge night before so you don't have to spend an hour steaming the ice. Can get it down pretty quick

Yeah look up 99-04 air box, p/n is different for the 95.5-98 air box. They make aftermarket air boxes for 99-04 but they don't for 95.5-98

@JKO1998 Welp I’m wrong. It’s a small plastic tube on my 1998 5VZ.

I was mistaking it for the 2RZ. The 2RZ has the exact same intake design as the 3RZ.

It looks like the plastic MAF tube is removable though.

V6 don't have the same tube 4cyl do, it's pretty different
