I was just looking at the tundra forum again the last couple of days and so many have been doing the Driver’s Side Grab Handle Mod







I want to join in on this mod for the third gen owners of tacos Plus the Back Seat additions

Why not just have a blank pre-made part that fits here. Eliminates cutting the bumper, might create a easier install. Does that sort of make sense?

Gotcha. I guess. I’m the type of person that enjoys doing that stuff so I find that part fun and then when you are done you are able to look back and say I did that! But I get it.

No no I totally get you on this. I have done all the labor on my truck, saved a ton and learned so much. I just didn’t cut the bumper as well as I had wanted....

 

Katie, The reason I'm asking is because the 3D printed handle will be a solid mass vs. the OEM hollow handle that's also cushion wrapped, I just don't want you to get hurt in any way. Just my .02 cents.

 

Well tbh, all we really need is the panel piece. Then we can actually purchase the rest OEM. It doesn’t have to be solid. It can be the same hollow handle. At least that was my plan. We just need the panel so that it has the mounting locations to screw into and it molds to the bottom of the Grab Handle.
