I have been wanting a Tacoma and reading these forums for many months. This past Friday I made a deposit on a new 2011 Tacoma. It is scheduled to arrive at the dealership on August 18th. It will be a TRD off-road, silver access cab. I am getting it from a dealer in Birmingham Alabama. I will pay around $1200.00 under MSRP not including tax and title. I have wanted a tough looking 4x4 for many years, but always took the conservative route. I am now retired and can afford it. I am getting this truck just because I want to. I will post pictures when it comes in, if I can figure out how. I enjoy reading all of your posts. Thanks

Does anyone have pictures of the 2011? Or is it just another 2nd gen?

If you do not mind me asking, what packages and options are on it and what did you pay? I am looking at a new truck myself and I would love to see some ideas of what people are paying!

Could you confirm what the mechanical specifications are for the 2011 Tacoma you ordered? Just wondering if they upgraded the 4.0 V6 to have dual VVT-I like the FJ Cruiser and 4Runner.

I still have a hard time believing that they wouldn't put the dual VVT-I 4.0 into the 2011 Tacoma.

    Thank you in advance!

By the way congrats on the new purchase!! :D

I have the 2011 Tacoma brochure (picked up today)... everything seems to be the same as 2010, with a slightly different grille (honeycomb). The engines looks to be the same. There is a T/X and T/X Pro package with beadlock wheels that upgrades the Off Road package.

My truck will have the TRD off-road package, tow package, daytime running lights, and "toyoguard plus protection group". Total of packages and options is 4474.00. The truck was already scheduled to be built with these options. I did not really want the protection group but had no choice. Base truck 25,925.00, options 4,474.00, delv.,process and handling 825.00. Total MSRP 31,224.00. I am paying exactly 30,000.00. Tax and title will be added to this. I know this is not a great price but these Access cabs in TRD are very very hard to find.

I don't really know the difference to be honest. It says this on the papers they gave me describing the engine."4.0L DOHC 24V V6 VVT-I 236HP". Nothing about dual VVT-I.
