    I like this idea better. I was curious how the two section piece was going to be. That’s one thing of many, I love about the first version. The one piece but the easy access to remove and replace the BD lights. The black 3D print looked pretty good tho. I’m a little partial to the 5 lights over the 4 but I can see how people that need the cargo light for the bed of the truck still need the angle down light. I wish you could still have the 5 light setup but with the two slanted down.

    Yeah unfortunately due to the new size, 4 lighs is it. I could stretch the housing, but I wanted it to be the same foot print as OEM. As far a lighting..2 new (high output) brake LEDS should be the same amount of light as 3 older versions. Although not the same look.. but there’s only so much I can do with given constraints.

    Oh most definitely! Yeah. I think you made another badass piece. No question. I love the 3 look but I agree with you, keeping it OEM is best. Too big would look horrible. Great adjustment with going back to one piece. I definitely think that’s the better route with these brake lights.

    I like the new BD, and I really like how the lights mount from behind. Too bad they're so big you can't fit five though because the R-W-R-W-R is the perfect set up imo.

    Definitely interested in getting a 2nd gen version when they're available. I think the KC is the way to go with it since it would flow with the tail light shape.

    How much wider would it be than OEM if a 5th light was added keeping them all slightly slanted? I would think maybe an inch or so? That may be a nice compromise and similar to the original BD style. Either way it is a sweet set up!

    just use black spray paint and spray the entire light once the cover is off?

    Please post this up - my big dislike about the KC version is the actual red/white look - if the whole thing could be made to look blacked out - I think I may warm up to that version. The entirely blacked out BD lights appeal to me naturally because of the muted look.

    Yes. Then just wipe the top of the led off with some solvent. Leaving the surrounding area black. Warning: this may void your warranty, so do it st your own risk.

    Looks better - still dont like how the LEDs show through and you can see how the tinted red lens is apparent. I suppose you could put tint over the outer lens to make the whole thing look 'blacked' out but you may lose a good bit of visibility and brightness.

    Still leaning toward BDs - love how you provide options and innovate - keep up the great work.

    Yeah that’s because KC uses 1 color emiter exclusively; white. Then just a colored lens of your choice over the top. Smart move from a production standpoint as they only need to make and stock 1 color light. BD(at least the red and white) uses different color LEDs.
    I do
    Like that idea. And if you look at my original ultimate brake I did this is what I did (red strips, white strips) retrofitted inside the factory brake housing
