If they keep telling people its more dependable, then it will push more sales. All about the media and changing the minds of the consumer.

Not sure it's pulled, saw this ad on TV last evening at like 7:30. The uneducated consumer is easily swayed!

I have yet to see a GM product without the body rusted out or mechanical problems after 100000 miles . At least Toyota replaced our rusted frames !

I just saw that ad a few weeks ago and did a double take when they dropped the words "more reliable than Toyota".

    Lol. Ok GM.

Without watching it, are they trying the "initial quality" thing again?

His channel has some pretty good other "Real People" parodies and a good one for the Buick Envision.

Don't care to watch the vids. But if this is chatting up the whole JDPowers thing, I'll just mention that JDPowers is horrid.

I have experience in a non automotive field where they did some ratings. And we had some management that thought we should chase those ratings and improve our position, when we were actually already doing quite well by industry standards, not JDPower 'standards'.

When you dig into the underlying data and how it's gathered, they are measuring perception, not reality.

Which I suppose matters to marketing types who are willing to hustle anything.

I personally don't find modern domestics as offensive as many folks here claim to. But I don't own one. :D

I know many people have good luck with other brands, but I've owned 7 cars only 1 being GM the others were Japanese (1 Toyota, 4 Subaru, 1 Honda). My 07 Silverado 1500 was by far the least reliable, it had the lowest mileage (under 55k) and was in the shop constantly for major repairs on things I wouldn't expect to go bad until well over 100k and I take care of my vehicles. I owned it for about 3 years and finally had enough.. Never again.. I am more confident in my Tacoma with 170k on the clock then I am with a brand new GM..

Didn't they pull the ad soon after because Toyota questioned it's accuracy ahaha? I think Chevy said they decided to remove the ad due to other reasons, NOT because of Toyota calling them out. In either case, it was a joke of an ad.
