Had a couple people ask me about mounting the Plano so I thought I’d share this in here as well.

How to mount a Plano on a prinsu

    Materials needed:

    1/4”x1” carriage bolts
    1/4”x1.5” washers
    1/4”-20 nylock nuts
    7/16” socket/wrench
    Drill w/ 3/16” drill bit
Something to mark where to drill
    T30 bit

    Optional:

    Silicone
    Hacksaw

Set Plano on prinsu and mark where you want to drill. Just gonna have to eyeball this part

    Drill your holes

Unbolt one side of crossbar using the T30 bit and set carriage bolts in rails

Loosely place Plano on bolts, and start the nuts but don’t tighten yet

Squeeze some silicone under the washer

Tighten down nuts, add silicone if needed, and trim excess off bolts.

I hope you have a cutout for a potato gun too, or a rocket launcher.

That tube disguised as a driveshaft is actually a mortar tube.

Nice setup! But I don't have a roof rack on my access cab...and I'm not drilling holes in the roof to have one. Also, I'm too old for retrieving heavy objects from the roof.
I think what I am going to do is get the 52" Pelican case, which is built a bit thicker and stronger. I'm considering mounting it in place of the back seat bottoms so that it'll flip up and I'll still have access to the cubbyholes in the rear floor. The 52" model will fit perfectly between the rear doors.
What do you think? I'll of course have to make the brackets to make it work with the seat hinges. And the case will be strong enough to be used as a seat base still, if needed.

Edit: It seems I may need to research this further...
The case I was referring to is actually 56" long(outside dimensions). So I need to remeasure the rear seating compartment and find one that fits:annoyed::rolleyes:

Ooooo, that’s a pretty slick idea. Could put a little padding on the lid too. I haven’t seen anyone do that before so if you did you should document it thoroughly

    The V730 is 47"×19"×7".
    The V800 is 56"×19"×6.7".
So, we'll see. Probably have to go with the V730.
19" wide may be too wide to fit without hitting the back of the center console

This is 52x17 but it is Plano. Pelican is hands down a better product but this may fit a bit better

Yeah, I looked at them in person at Cabelas. The Plano was a little bit flimsy compared to the Pelican and the Cabelas(Boyt) brands...not really "flimsy", but just not sure about someone sitting on the Plano. The other two brands are made with a different, harder material.
Just looked online at the Boyt, who makes the Cabelas branded one. It comes in a 55"×18.5"×7".

Dammit, I'm going out to the truck now to measure again:rofl:

Ok. 52" is the max length that will fit. Width won't be an issue up to 20". So pelican may be out of the question. Gotta shop around some more

Yeah I’ve used pelican cases at work before and they’re hands down a superior product. Extremely stout and I would love to run them, but for what I need I can’t justfiy the price. I hope you can find one that fits in there
