I recently thought it was time to add an anytime backup camera, and front camera to my Tacoma. I found a toggle switch that allowed to switch between the two easily, however it matches the OEM style small switch rather than a CH4x4 switch. I was wondering if anyone knows of an adaptor or even 3d model to print one to allow for this switch to fit. I want to keep the look consistent in my truck and have this switch mounted to the left side of my steering wheel.

Folks with 3rd gens that have all small switch slots utilized need help..! The one and only open slot is for a large switch, and neither “anytimebackup” or “beat sonic” have large switch equivalents. I know we can purchase blank space switch holes... but I would like to utilize the current open large one to the left side. So, an adapter to convert a large opening to accept a small switch.. that would be awesome.

I have found a blank plate adapter that adds two small switch holes for the overhead on my Limited...

    https://www.shapeways.com/product/8A22XRNYG/2016-toyota-tacoma-overhead-center-switch-panel

...however, that’s more money and more complex of an install (not hard, just an unnecessary PITA)

I already have a RedArc brake controller replacement plate for the cubby with, yep you guessed it, two large holes available... ugg!

    https://www.shapeways.com/product/3...edarc-towpro?optionId=63983174&li=marketplace

Maybe @mesojdm could assist with designing, printing, selling a sleeve of sorts so we can use small switches in the large holes?

Thanks Boghog1, I'll see if I can get that printed and report back if it works. If not we'll have to see what mesojdm comes up with. :)

Well the 3D printed one from the link above does not seem to work. Not sure if the dimensions are off, but not really fit for the curve style of the Tacoma. Hopefully @mesojdm can work his magic one day.

@Berttholio, you don't have any blank switch spaces in the center console? I had one free that takes these smaller switches. Hope to finish up my front/rear switch install today.

Unfortunately I don’t, all 6 slots are in use. In a perfect world I could just removed something I leave on all the time, but I often am using all the switches that are located there currently.

OP: I have a two opening adapter for the upper cubby that will fit the small stock switch.

I’ll send you it (along with a switch plug for the extra opening) for free. PM me if interested.

I need a solution as well. I've thought about using a tall, narrow switch and rewiring the auto high beam switch to it so as to open up a slot for the short, fat anytime camera switch but an adapter would be so much easier.

It is fairly easy to take the internals of the smaller switch and install them in the larger housing.

Several forum users (including myself) have done just that.
