From the "Funny Gifs" thread. Dropped that kid like a bag of dirt. Takedown instincts are perfect!

It's all good. Appreciate the sorry.

I posted about it here a few days after we had to put her down. She was 15 (almost 16) and had hyperthyroidism which lead to kidney failure. Of course with cats you never know how much they are suffering. She looked fine until one morning we went to give her food/medicine and she had her face down in the mat by the stove.

We miss her but glad she isn't suffering.

Enough sad stuff. My mother-in-law had her two cats (17 years old) pass away a few months ago and she adopted this girl (Callie) a week after Christmas. Callie is 9 years old. She was very shy the first week she got to my mother-in-law's but have warmed up quite a bit.

Thanks. Personally I'm not ready yet. Abigail was quite a bit of work (medicine, litter box issues (we had to use pee-pads), weird eating habits).... I'm fine waiting for a while.

I like cats but don't want one right away. Enjoying the freedom. That sounds mean. Sorry

@96accord not mean at all, pets are a lot of work and it’s best we only get them when we can care for them properly and willingly. I love dogs, but it’s been some time since my last one and when I am ready to give up the freedom I’ll get another.

I went through a lot of the same stuff you did and I was totally fine just sticking with the 2 girls after Albert passed. Ended up that I saw Amos up for adoption and I ended up being the one who peruses getting him. You’ll know when and if the time is right. We used to have dogs too and after they both passed we were just over having dogs and there’s only been a couple times that I even remotely considered getting another one. That thought came and went fast. It’s likely that if you end up with another kitty it’ll happen when you’re not even looking for one.

We had a cat that was diabetic and required insulin shots twice a day,it can wear on you after a while.

Very cute..and sorry about your loss. I like to think when a cat passes, they're making room for another one in our lives..

And I relate, my Pumpkin had renal failure and at some times was a lot to keep up with. Mainly when she peed on the hardwood floor, but I was able to stop that after a couple of weeks thankfully

My friend has a Brussels griffon (dog) that needs shots. Fortunately she works from home.

That’s great, I have heard it’s very hard to get a cat to lose weight. :notsure:

It takes time especially if you free-feed or have multiple cats
