How come I can still see the nock on the arrow that was 'robin-hooded'???? If carbon arrows, shouldn't it have exploded?? Even if not, the nock should not be showing!?!?! Did an aluminum arrow YEARS ago.....it just peeled apart.

NICE 50 yard group by the way!!!!

I think those are hay, 96% sure but could be wrong. Some are Pacific Butt targets, some foam sheeting

Not trying to be argumentative.....the few times I have hit a carbon arrow (NOT straight on like you did) the arrow kind of exploded. To me at least, it looks like I see an orange nock on the hit arrow in the picture (60 yard pic) or are there 2 arrows real close together in the target. As I said earlier NICE groupings!!

There is another arrow in front. None of my arrows match right now, I've got some new ones coming thankfully. Groups are OK, I want to be able to keep everything super tight at any distance. Keep practicing.

Thank you for the close up..........the arrow nock I was referring to shows, but I couldn't see the arrow behind it, which is the one you hit. If you look at your 60 yard pic, you may see what I was seeing.

I have learned (the hard way) over the years to shoot less arrows at a time, or in your case, you could use 2 or 3 actual targets with that size backstop and shoot less arrows at each. Sixty yards each way for 3 arrows at a time would get old quick. Max I shoot is 6 at a time, but my target has several small bulls eyes on the face. 1 arrow/bulls eye. Got a dozen carbon express maxima red Mathews Lost Camo arrows this fall. Need to get them cut to length come spring and get a new target, too.

I have a black block for my compound bow and it has different smaller targets on the big block. I dont mind shooting 3-6 arrows and a retrieve. But Robin hooding arrows gets expensive...Im usually not too tight of grouping to worry about it past 40yds.

Welp. I missed my shot on a nice whitetail Doe this evening. Shot righ under her. I have one more chance in the morning as that’s the last day of the season for the county I’m hunting in.

At least I can enjoy a few beers and a nice camp fire.

After my dad finished the tile floors in his cabin in PA, we had a metric shit ton of orange rubber spacers left. We'd stick them in hay bales and shoot them instead of our arrows. We shot broadheads only and cut fletchs off before using the spacers.

I think my Mathews DXT is around 10 years old - bought it the year they were introduced. Re-used my sight, rest, and stabilizer. Bought a new quiver and a few small items - string silencers, etc. I still spent around $1000 back then, but it still shoots great....only replaced the string by necessity and a few other small items by choice and not need.

Exactly, I was finally able to get some land of my own that I can get to a/o having to drive an hour, I so far have only let 2 good friends on.
However I am surrounded on 3 sides by a conservation that allows its members hunt, the other side is another hunter who allows many others to come out, so even private land is still a challenge to hunt, it just provides more opportunity to get out when time is short.
