Is he making a delivery?! If so as a former vendor I'd give him a pass.

He was but the spot next to his truck was empty and NOT a handicapped spot. I could have called the Police and been a prick about it but I let it go. My Wife told him it was not cool.

What I generally do in these situations is spit under a persons door handle who parks like an asshole. It likely won’t change their behavior, but I feel better, isn’t that what’s really important?

Are you buying something from that store?
How do you think that product got there? Delivery trucks own the road, and have carte blanche in parking lots. You're welcome to think otherwise, but you're wrong.

Ah replied before I saw your own reply. Good on you to remain passive while you took pictures and your wife explained cool. One problem with being a vendor is working for a corporation with a uniform and what not. If it weren't for the uniform, one would tell idiots explicitly to fuck off. Depending on the idiot, wearing the uniform can quash the vocabulary.

I'm glad you were able to park close enough to take those pictures. Is your issue that he was in a handicap spot? You seem to be close enough to use those facilities, yes? Conscientious vendors will clear those, or even assist good people into the account in these situations.

As a vendor, I always welcome individuals to call the police (while they're being a prick, or not). I'll leave it to you to guess who the police spend more time talking to.

The parking lot was empty. I have a handicapped parking permit. He was wrong for parking there. He could have just as easily parked in the space next to it.

    Fair enough.

Worth considering as well is the state of the lot when he arrived, versus when you did. But I got my Friday posts out of my system.

As a former vendor... I used to used the handicap spot myself for a couple reasons...

It was usually always empty and most have a ramp going into the store.

I however always kept lookout for someone who genuinely needed the spot.

Being it's a small store and there were MANY spots available I dont see any fault in his park.

The law doesn't apply when you have 50 stores to service and you like getting home at a decent hour.

Not arguing your point just showing the parking decision through his eyes. I've been there. Some busy stores I've had to service that is usually the only option... IMHO it's different than a patron that just doesn't gaf.

Ah, but that’s what’s great about laws: they apply to all civilians at all times.

I hope the next person that prepares your meal on a night out carefully washes their hands after taking an excruciatingly painful groaner and wipes with the standard tissue thin toilet paper... because it’s the law and they value the safety of fellow citizens.

Letter of the law versus the spirit of the law is sometimes forgotten. Should the delivery truck in that photo parked in the handicap space, no they should have parked right next to it in the lined out area. But seriously, if there isn’t a space marked for deliveries you usually end up with the truck right in the middle of the dam parking lot, so in this situation the driver did ok.
