Remote Start

Is there anyway to override the feature: when you open the car door.after the truck was remotely started, the engine shuts off?

There has to be some way of disabling this. It is the most annoying thing EVER

 

There is but it’s a liability issue and nobody likes being liable.

 

In my area stuff is getting stole after an owner starts it and goes back in, no way even where I live do I want to make it easy for a thief.

 

How is it a liability if the doors are still locked.
Mine stays in a garage. The truck is locked while it's started (from the remote start).
So, it's in a garage, locked. That's 2 forms of security.
I agree it's annoying, and if there's a fix I'd like to know about it.

There's not. It's built into the computer on the truck, and actually most vehicles nowadays. Only Hkey (normal key) vehicles can stay running.

Well that'll get you in, never turn your vanity lights on when the door open, and potentially allow you to lock your fob in the vehicle...but that's only the half of it. Once you tap the brakes, it will still stop the engine on a PTS. It's fool proof.

 

This feature is only on push button Toyota's and Lexus'.

 

He said he wanted to open the door without the engine turning off... never said anything about driving it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Thanks to @N2DesignsInc I can open my M6 HKEY door without it turning off
