Funny you mention the spare as i usually drop it down once or twice a year to clean it and check the air pressure, but since it has a steel wheel and no pressure sensor you really couldn't work it into regular rotations.

Only people I know of that do that are those with a 5th matching wheel/spare, usually on a swingout bumper. I do a 5 tire rotation.

If you are very careful and methodical on level ground, you can go full monorail cat.

Pair of 6 tons on front on frame rail, pair of 3 tons on the rear. Jack in the center of the front cross member in front using a high reach 3 ton jack. I do a 5-wheel.

My guess is... Cover their ass, in case when/if it came with, or someone installs directional tries on it. Easier for a general rotation, then adding supplement for different tire configurations.

Don't use the factory bottle Jack without a piece of wood. Will bend the frame metal.

+1 on the HF floor jack, love mine. Might want to pick up a good set of ear plugs too, on concrete they are louder than a jet engine taking off in your kitchen. Also if you have directional tires they have to rotate front to back/ back to front.
